they say saddams an evil man - that i will agree. but if they prosecute him , they need to prosecute the church. during the course of history the church has been to blame for countless murders, wars and widespread fear - need i point out the crusades, iraq, "witch" burnings, book burnings, northen ireland and about a million with that. so why hs the church not been stopped for this bloddy past which in comparison makes saddam look like an angel?

Sadam is not an angel he is an evil man. Religion has a lot to answer for over the centuries. They have been the cause of good and evil. However we have moved on and Sadam is the now and has to be dealt with.

Lets put on trial every organisation which has been unfair to anyone no matter how distantly in the past and always remember that the morals of today are superior to the innate stupidity of our ancestors, are we not after all the morally superior as our standards are perfect and nothing we do shall be frowned upon in the future.
To be honest man I bet in 200 years people are going to despise people like us for using cars and TVs and such to pollute the world to crap while millions in Africa starve. Personally I could live on around £10 a week for food and morally should give away every other penny I get to save the lives in innocent children I will never meet, but instead I gorge on burgers, read books, buy DVD's and go on holidays with money I really only gain by living in a wealthy society. To be honest I personally am a pretty sh*tty person and I can't see how my actions will be, in the future, be judged as being any better than Sadam, Hiter, the Church of England, the Catholic Church, or Islamic fundamentalists.

Sorry for ranting but that's how I see things - if we judge the past by the standards of today we should look at all our personal flaws and how the future will judge them.
Have a great day.

Really? Do you even know the instances that you are refering to? And whom are you refering to as "the church?" Your ranting and pretending that you know something when your logic is out to lunch. Do you want to hold me responsible for what errant ndividuals did in the past? If that is the case then I want to hold people responsible for the way my ancestors were treated when they imigrated to this country. I guess that is the angle you are coming from, everyone is responsible for what someone in the past has done so each and every person who's ancestors were pesectuted deserves a nice fat settlement check. Get real! I am a member of the church and I have done good for people all my life. You can't deal with the truth that at least 80% of all charitible dollars spent in social outreach come from Christians and that Christians (The Church) volunteer more hours of community service than any other group.

Sadam is on trial for evil he as a person allegedly committed. A person is responsible for their choices, the content of their character (thanks MLK) and the love in their heart. You are a hate monger and inciting hatred. Hope that answers your question.

you need to take up a job as Saddams' attorney. Why do you always have to pull down the Church? whether Saddam is an angel or not, is not our business! the Bible says "judge not so that you will not be judged" Mathew 7:1

Which Church do you think should be put on trial?
My understanding is that Saddam killed his own people not because of religion but to show them who was in control.

You don't need to go back that far to determine the church is guilty, Pat Robertson regularly advocates killing people and inflicting harm on those who disagree with his version of god.

Get out of the past. We have learnt and moved on. You can never move on if you keep harping back.
