I dont think Christian Music will bring us any new revelations but it could strengthen an old one. Did you ever notice that Christian music tends not to put down other people, I never hear "Muslims are Satan and Gays are Hellbound ... yeah yeah Praise God!" instead, it is usually praising God and humbling oneself. Also, it seems to be a common element for people to ask questions or even have doubt in them. I Can Only Imagine by Mercy Me, Smell the Color 9 by Chris Rice and Held by Natallie Grant are perfect examples of this. And did you ever notice Christian Music doesn't preach a lot of doctrine either? I don't hear many songs about Calvinism or "Once Saved Always saved" and I never hear in a Christian song anyone saying "Catholics are wrong and Baptists are right"
Dont you think we can learn something from this?

christian music can teach us everything society tends to neglect to mention, it can give hope, faith, and love to one who has long since experienced such emotions, and just like you said, its not biased so we can lay off falling into groupies, well all except maybe a groupie of faithful people, i think it would be great to go through a time where all someone listens to is christian music....but thats me

greetings -
I suppose it depends on the artist and the song. Most music is an expression of the artist (or artists heart), therefore - the music will reveal the person, not JUST the faith. If I am a christian in the real sense (not a religious person, but I live out my faith with love) I will be singing about MORE then just 'how to get saved'. Personally - if I hear christian music that tells me 'how to get saved', I will turn it off.
Formulas don't work with God, so they don't work with me - nor do they work in the real world. Christian music can teach that religion - especially the Christian one - is old, outdated and not God's will for humanity. If we sing about the outcome of our faith (freedom, peace, being real and not fake) instead of telling people how bad they are and how 'good I am', or doctrine - we reflect God and I'd much rather do that - then tell someone what to believe.

That Satan has infiltrated into almost every aspect of modern Christianity, and that American Christians can be extremely superficial as they feed their minds on Satan's Rock instead of The word. Christian Rock is a sign of the last days. We are living in the luke warm church of Laodoceia and God is about to vomit.

i'm an individual Christian and hear to many genres of secular song. Hymns have their position, Christian rap and rock are oftentimes artists who couldnt make it contained in the mainstream.

Good points, but it's merely wishful thinking. Perhaps partly due to the fact that there exist stinkers like "Jesus take the wheel." Oy vey.

Depends on your point of view. I'm not Christian so won't teach me anything but it may someone who follows that faith. Just because the music doesn't spew hatred doesn't mean some of the followers don't....it's irrelevant.........

It teaches us that no matter how untalented, someone with a guitar and a bad drum set can find his niche and still fleece the sheep.
Laughable!

Yes, positive energy and praise are uplifting. Criticizing others is not.
