And if you say Sola Scriptura, please explain to me how 'Scripture' and denomational translation of the Bible is distinguishable from tradition. Afterall, the cannon was established the same as the other traditions in the Catholic church in the early centuries CE.

The farther away from the source the more distorted the message.
The game is usualy played in a group, one person says something like peter piper pick a peck of peppers, or something like that and whisper it into the ear of the person next to them and that persons repeats what they think they heard to the next and so on. It usually ends up something like "purple monkey dishwasher" or some nosense like that.
anyhow on to my question, although most of you will not read this far, do you think something has been lost in translation with the bible?

For anyone who has read the Da Vinci Code and hated it because of the way it portrayed Jesus:

Supposing that the book is 100% factual, how does the message of Jesus change? Does Jesus being married and having children change his ultimate message or the message of Christianity in general.

Serious answers only please. Only people that have read the book or seen the movie please.

my initial suggestions are as follows "duh" "whatever" and all overly abbreviated words such as plz ty lol (esp*) all these words words do is limit our usage of altenative words and require little imagination , not to mention our descriptive abilites
pointing out the obvious fact that words could not be banned do little to aid

I dont get how you can claim to be exclusive from everyone else. Sounds a bit pompous to me. That would be like you saying " I and only I have the cure for HIV NOOO one else" when just across the room a guy has the same cure, but in your own mind you are the ONLY one with the cure. You would be considered a fool and a crazy person because everyone else can see someone else has the SAME thing you do but doesn’t claim it as their own. so how can you go around saying JESUS is the ONLY way. For all you know that guy never was around. And where i live all you see is Christians saying its only him its only him...you never see a Muslim or anyone else do that. So please STOP thumping because not everyone wants to hear lies like you have been fed.

hello, I am a man getting rid of my impure acts and thoughts, and I am succeeding to become pure. Is there men that completly ignore temptation, and don't dwell on sex as a tool, or have dirty thoughts. Is there men that think Sex is for marriage, and that they can wait, and that when their married it will be beautiful? I would love to know from a christian man.

I keep reading about people who are afraid for their health because their AC doesn't work or their AC won't keep up with the heat. What in the world would these people do if they were teleported back to, say, 1920?

why do christians hate gays? i grew up in a baptist home. I love and respect God but Im gay. I know that homosexuality is a sin and im ok with that. God knows no one is perfect. But other christians are another story...i see all the time, "your going to hell because you're queer" "god hates gays" and all I can say is "what hypocrites you are" You pick and choose which of the rights and laws God has written to what fits you. You raz on gays but are you not breaking one of the commandments? Thou shalt now judge!? I may be sinning but your breaking a commandment!! I guess im gonna see you in hell right alongside of me. : )

Is God's forgiveness for all, or for some? Is God's forgiveness contingent upon our own actions, or bestowed as a free gift to all?

For all here, what is your favorite (or top favorites) quote(s) with regards to your beliefs? What resonates with you, where you read it and go, "Yes, that's what it's about?" Whether it's a passage from your faith's Holy Book, a quote from philosophy, the Second Law of Thermodynamics, the Rede, Liber AL, the Satanic Bible, Einstein's Theory of Relativity, something from Origin of the Species, etc. etc. etc.?

I'm truly curious as to what folks will choose, it should be interesting and revealing. I'll add mine later.

Do you think this Spell stuff is really a chick thing?

You see, I picture women doing the spell stuff and guys doing alchemy,
like tinkering with chemicals and machinery which is what guys do anyways.
Maybe thats sexist?

Did you know that Sr. Isaac Newton was an alchemist?
When ever I see something about Alchemy, Its always a guy

this is not realy a source, but just an intersting site on Neton.
