And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory...

The mystery is : God was manifest in the flesh of Jesus Christ

His intentions are a mystery. For example, does he mean to test us, strengthen us, lead us toward a certain direction (such as toward loving Him), or does he just react to whatever we do of our own free will with no intentions of influencing that? Is he active in his creation (that is, interacting constantly in present day life), passive (that is, he created the universe, then sat back and watched), or some amount of involvement in between? What is the reason for the amount of involvement he has? When somebody says we don't understand God, they mean we don't understand what his Plan is for us...

The human soul.

"Know, verily, that the soul is a sign of God, a heavenly gem whose reality the most learned of men hath failed to grasp, and whose mystery no mind, however acute, can ever hope to   unravel. It is the first among all created things to declare the excellence of its Creator, the first to recognize His glory, to cleave to His truth, and to bow down in adoration before Him. If it be faithful to God, it will reflect His light, and will, eventually, return unto Him. If it fail, however, in its allegiance to its Creator, it will become a victim to self and passion, and will, in the end, sink in their depths."

The Christian God is Love...

This is the ultimate mystery -- why would he love a worm like me?

Cordially,
John
