For all here, what is your favorite (or top favorites) quote(s) with regards to your beliefs? What resonates with you, where you read it and go, "Yes, that's what it's about?" Whether it's a passage from your faith's Holy Book, a quote from philosophy, the Second Law of Thermodynamics, the Rede, Liber AL, the Satanic Bible, Einstein's Theory of Relativity, something from Origin of the Species, etc. etc. etc.?

I'm truly curious as to what folks will choose, it should be interesting and revealing. I'll add mine later.

"Faith may be defined briefly as an illogical belief in the occurrence of the improbable. A man full of faith is simply one who has lost (or never had) the capacity for clear and realistic thought. He is not a mere ***; he is actually ill."
H.L. Mencken

"The most preposterous notion that H. sapiens has ever dreamed up is that the Lord God of Creation, Shaper and Ruler of all the Universes, wants the saccharine adoration of His creatures, can be swayed by their prayers, and becomes petulant if He does not receive this flattery. Yet this absurd fantasy, without a shred of evidence to bolster it, pays all the expenses of the oldest, largest, and least productive industry in all history."
Robert Heinlein

Inspiration can be cultivated and be a driving force throughout life, rather than showing up every now and then and just as mysteriously disappearing, seemingly independent of our desires. Inspiration is for everyone! It isn’t reserved for high-profile creative geniuses in the arts and sciences—it’s inherent in our Divine birthright. The problem is that as children we’re gradually taught to believe exclusively in the world of phenomena where ego is dominant and inspiration diminished.

From The Bible of The Christian Faith:..from the Gosple of John chapter 3 v16-17

"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life

"Unlike some religions, Wicca doesn't view Deity as distant.The Goddess and God are both within ourselves and manifest in all nature. This is the universality: there is nothing that isn't of the Gods." Scott Cunningham from Wicca: A Guide for the Solitary Practitioner.

And ye shall be free from slavery;
and as a sign that ye be really free,
ye shall be naked in your rites;
and ye shall dance, sing, feast, make music and love, all in my praise.
For mine is the ecstasy of the spirit,
and mine also is joy on earth;
for my law is love unto all beings.

Keep pure your highest ideal;
strive ever towards it, let naught stop you or turn you aside;
for mine is the secret door which opens upon the land of youth,

"Draw near to God and He will draw near to you." (James 4:8 NASB)

"His way is in the whirlwind and the storm, and clouds are the dust of His feet." (Nahum 1:3 NIV)

"The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance." (2 Peter 3:9 NASB)

"Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you." (1 Peter 5:7 NIV)

"The LORD your God is with you,
he is mighty to save.
He will take great delight in you,
he will quiet you with his love,
he will rejoice over you with singing." (Zephaniah 3:17 NIV)

And also there are a lot of quotes in the CS Lewis book "Mere Christianity" that are very good.

I who am the beauty of the green earth
and the white moon among the stars
and the mysteries of the waters,
I call upon your soul to arise and come unto me.

For I am the soul of nature that gives life to the universe.
From Me all things proceed and unto Me they must return.
Let My worship be in the heart that rejoices,
for behold, all acts of love and pleasure are My rituals.
Let there be beauty and strength,
power and compassion,
honour and humility,
mirth and reverence within you.
