Superficially, it may seem to Japanese that Westerners (particularly Americans) are rude and awful. However:
1) Westerners tend to get right to the heart of the matter, not beat around the bush like so many people in the Orient. Directness and brutal honesty are not necessarily bad things.
2) The tendency of many Japanese (and some other Asians) to gloss over and not acknowledge the bad things that affect them and that they have done, but rather to just smile and bow politely, is the reason why they STILL to this day have not learned their lessons from WW2 and the '80s. Japan is still largely a culture in denial.
So no, I do not think that the Japanese culture of two-facedness that is oh-so-polite but thinks it is racially superior should prevail. However, the part of Japanese culture that emphasizes hard work and dedication should come to the fore.

I don't know a lot about Japanese culture.
There are some things about western culture that I like (esp since I'm used to it) and some that I dispise being caught up in.
I'm sure it's the same for every culture. Each has some good points and some bad points.

The japs tried their "culture"exchange at Pearl Harbor and they got cultured at Hiroshima , that is why complacency exist there until this day !! . It wouldn`t even be a country if we hadn`t rebuilt it !! Culture , Are you talking about the "culture" that performed the Bataan Death march , or when your "culture" destroyed and raped the chinese city of Nanking , not to mention all the Korean atrocities and the coward bastards that were responsible for the "cultured" sneak attack on Pearl Harbor killing while people slept ?? jap culture ?
