Though most unfortunate, the hatred towards the Jews in Western culture has been going on for almost two thousand years. I believe that the hatred started with the fact that many Europeans believed that it was the Jewish people who killed Christ. Also, with the rise of Christendom in the middle ages, any other religion besides Christianity was rejected in Europe. While this explains why some of the history behind the hatred of Jews in Europe, I believe that the hatred Hitler fed off of was caused by a much more recent event. Hitler, like many German citizens felt that the reason World War One was lost was that the banks would not support the war. Since most of the bankers and rich in Germany were Jewish and many soldiers felt they were responsible for the defeat in the war, this “Great Backstab” as it is known fueled the hatred that Hitler was able to play off of. Another point to consider is possibly that the Jewish people were a nation that was supposed to be separate from the rest of the world - chosen, if you will by God Himself! This meant that they were not supposed to need anything from anyone. Their God was to bless and provide them with all their needs. Throughout Bibical history, we can see how their travels through the desert, their defeats and wins against waring nations refleted how they were led and by what authority. As the time machine rolled on, Jews dealt only with their own in business practices, religious gatherings, family, marriage, etc. Their culture and way of life basically demanded this separation. To the Western world, this was unacceptable. How dare a group of non-whites who have different beliefs, practice their religious beliefs, marry and live completely separate from the rest of the world? How dare they prosper!? Prosper so much to the point that they have their hands in all of the magnetisms and attractions of the world and make even more money. How dare they separate and live as though they are above any common man? It is this kind of thinking that I believe has propelled the hatred of Jewish people. "They" all appear to be demanding, ingratiating, rich, in every pocket of our society, helping only themselves, never appear to share with the greater needy of the world. If you really think about the kinds of people who have cultivated in these United States - there is a togetherness that seems to be shared with ones own people. The act of building together to make the foundation strong and firm for the rest of the family and members to take hold of and continue the rope-threading process for strength and tenacity. These are a people, like blacks, that no other race could 'get rid of'. Even with the millions of Jews who died in the Holocaust - the growth and rebuilding of these family structures has never ceased. This was a good question -one in which I was happy to participate. Thank you for the additional thought to consider as well -answers that reflect not racist views, but in depth thought.

Maybe its because of a perceived arrogance on the part of some orthodox Jewish views towards gentiles and that if they are gods chosen people they can do anything to any one with no limits cause its all condoned by god however this might not be so true cause if they are really they have more responsibility than gentiles do i wouldn"t want to be a jewish person i would rather have fun

Good question, I wonder as well.

Seems like people enjoy having a target group (to single out and dislike, etc.) and in the past, Jews have been such a group.

I am surprised at Darrell and Beau's responses. Nothing against Jews, but they are not the only ones "chosen by God." God loves everyone and "chooses" us, but it is up to us to choose His Way or another way.

Simply put, the Devil is very skilled at using ungodly people against Israel. Should Israel be destroyed, none of the Biblical prophesies could come true. That's why people hate Israel so much. The devil is simply using them. Why do you think they were exterminated a hundred times throughout history?

This is from a biblical point of view. As I am a Christian.

I think that anyone who clains that they are better than everyone else is going to be disliked by the everyone else. Every person in the world wants to be the best some when a group comes along saying our way is the only way that group is going to be disliked.
