Especially when the question has attracted so many good answers that like five or six of them could easily quality as "best"?

I always feel as if I'm some kind of cad who flips off people's feelings by picking only one of them as having provided a "best" answer, and often end up wimping out by putting it up for a vote, even at the risk of dumbass voters picking an obviously jerkoff answer.

so please tell me the difference between this:

we have the right to kill babies
but yet we do not have the right to kill eachother. isn.t there something wrong here?

example: if i went outside and killed my neighbor i would go to jail

but if i kill a unborn child nobody would say anything about it

One evening I drove my vehicle 27 miles into a wilderness on top of snow then came to a snow drift I could not get around, so had to turn back. If you have ever tried to follow your trail back, you will understand how hard it is to do and I didn't and ended in snow up to my windows all the way around. I had a shovel and dug the snow away but was 40 feet off the trail with nothing but soft snow between me and the road. My thermometer said it was 8 below zero, my odemeter said I had 22 miles to hike. My calendar said i had at least five days before anybody else was expected on the road. I had a dialogue with God and because I knew how to do so, he sent me back to my vehicle and lifted it the forty necessary feet. As I was continueing my journey out, I asked him what he wanted and he said nothing was expected, for He enjoyed the dialogue. According to the people of the world today what happened to me was an aberation because we can only have dialogues with equals. How far backward have we retreated to have such an absurdity as a rule?

It seems that I see too many posts that are difficult, if not impossible to understand. I can understand the use of "internet shorthand", but what I see is as far from that as Ebonics is from being a legitimate language. I see this even in posts and questions from people that are in an office environment.

I say this as a 39 year old truck driver. I am a product of taxpayer funded child abuse(aka public schooling), so the accusation of private education is not applicable. Simply, when I was in school, I paid attention and did my best. Bear in mind, I'm a truck driver, so obviously I'm no genius.

Language skills are absolutely neccessary, and yet seem to be lacking. Is this just laziness, or a sign that even though we spend fortunes to educate our kids, the money is wasted?

My question is this: Who is responsible for the poor education our children recieve, and what can be done to solve it?
