Great question. Maybe it's an idea created as a convenience to man. A reference point if you will. Of course usually the question is asked in reverse. Were we created in the image of God? When I hear this question I automatically think about yet a third question: Is there life on other planets? Now if there is a God and he created life throughout the universe as many theorize there could be many different types of life forms. With that said what divine image could we be talking about? Interesting stuff!!!!

No. God was created in the image of the Sun. He just evolved to look like us.

I believe that the IMAGE of God was created in our image. That we 'see' God in a way that is easiest for us to comprehend. However, it highly unlikely that god looks how we think s/he does.

Fish have a quite human like face; eyes, nose, mouth...
Does this mean fish may have had a hand/fin in his image too?
And personally I have a tiny p*nis, so is that why god was always so angry when he was younger, is god a "grower" not a "shower"?
It would explain the whole religious sexual repression thing quite nicely...

Yes. And the people here prove it all the time. One persons "God" is a loving character, who just wants you to go to heaven... another persons "God" hates everything that doesn't like him or what he does and will throw you in hell simply for not believing in him... And then others, well, their gods are a bit more fun than that...

Not necessarily - many religions see the Deities as animalistic, either human with animal head (Egyptian, for example) or as animals (Native American).
