my brother is a genius - like really - and he failed miserably at school because it bored the crap out of him. now he works for the government writing tax legislation and loves it and keeps getting promoted.
and on the other side of the coin i know lots of people who studied heaps at school and got good grades, but have terrrible social skills, so have heaps of trouble holding down a job.
the adult career world has bugger all to do with school.

I wasn't the best student in high school, it wasn't until my sr. year that I really started working. I even got an F for one semester of geometry and a D- in world history.
However, I did get accepted to a good school, I got my BS and a teaching degree, and now I teach high school Spanish, something that I love and I am very good at. I'm also working on a master's in language education. One F and couple of other low grades, in the long run, didn't hurt me.
So I try to keep in mind, when I have students doing not so well in my class, that maybe some poor schmuck in my class is struggling, going to fail despite me having tried everything to get him to pass, and one F is not going to ruin that kid's life. One F is one thing, the problem is when that kid has an F in every class, not just mine.

I didn't have terrible grades, but not good grades, and I am extremely successful at work. I guess the subject I was good in (english) has to do with my work, rather than something like math or science (BLEH) and, by the way, i never graduated from college, but I still pride myself on the good work that i do

no, they are all idiots now or in prison. as for the reverse, yeah quite a few of those people exist. Like all of those girls who did so well in high school just to get knocked up and raise babies for a living, i would say they aren't too successful.

certain, yet getting into many situations going on into college is an fullyyt diverse, numerical count number. In different words, grades received't result your interest for an market. they'll, notwithstanding, result how trouble-free or difficult that is to get in many situations going on right into a college.
