No - show you're the better person by not stooping to their level.

I have had good success with calling them on their behavior. If a salesperson is rude, I say, "There's no need to be rude to me." If a person is acting snobby, I say,"Are you gaining some sense of satisfaction by treating me poorly?" It usually awakens them to their bad behavior. Usually they apologize and say they didn't mean it or didn't realize they were doing it. It gives them a chance to apologize and even if they don't, I feel better because I didn't let them get away with walking all over me.

I think you should let them know that they are being snobby. I don't believe in letting people get away with their rudeness or stupidity, because if they don't get a reality check they are just going to bring it to other people.

But, be polite about it. Say something like "Excuse me, but you don't have to be rude" or something to that effect. They'll probably be crabby and snap back with something like "I"m not being snobby blah blah wah wah," but just keep your ground and continue to be polite until they realize their faults. Of course, some people are just nasty to the core and don't care if they're rude, and you can't do anything about it.

No, you should not be rude back to someone who acts snobby to you b/c you are putting yourself on their level. Do you really want to give that snobby person that satisfaction?

Not necessarily... but you would be justified if you wanted to. Of course there's always the high road, you could just make it a point to avoid that person and refuse to bring yourself to their level... but honestly? I would probably make sure I let them know I felt the same way about them before I left.

No, because that's what they're expecting. They're trying to pick a fight with you. It makes you the stronger person to just act aloof and indifferent. It also annoys them more.

It doesn't help anything. Besides, that person could have something terrible going on in their life. Love and friendliness goes alot further.

Take the high road and maintain your courtesy, if nothing else, it will bug them even more than if you were rude.
