The wall went up higher and higher until it reached their chests. The Nawab and Qazi approached them and said to them in an affectionate tone, "There is still time for you to save your lives, just recite the Kalma (become Muslim) and the wall will be pulled down immediately."
The Sahibzadas shouted loudly, "We shall not give up our faith death does not frighten us."

They led him to the spot where Bhai Mati Das had been sawn into two. He was told to see what had happened to his companion for not converting to islam.
He was advised to be wiser.

'All right,' said the Chief Qazi, 'be ready.' He was seated in a large boiling vessel. It was filled with water. Then they lit fire under it. He did not give out even the faintest cry of pain. He went on repeating Guru's hymns. This went on until his soul left his body to join Bhai Mati Das.

Bhai Sati Das was a brother of Bhai Mati Das, who had been the first to be martyred on that day. After putting Bhai Dyal Das to death, Aurangzeb's men took out Bhai Sati Das from the prison. He was told to see what had happened to his other two companions. 'If you don't want to suffer what they have suffered,' they said, 'give up your kufar or false faith, and embrace Islam, the only acceptable to God. Be wise, make a wise choice. If you embrace Islam, you will be given a high position and plenty of pleasures. Make up your mind. Bhai Sati Das was firm as a rock in his resolve. He told the Qazi and his men that he was eager to join his martyred companions. Under the Qazis's orders, Bhai Sati Das was wrapped in cotton, which was soaked in oil. Thus wrapped, he was burnt alive to death.

on Sunday, 9th June, 1716. Banda's cage was again hoisted on top of an elephant, and he was dressed in mock attire of an emperor, with a colourful red pointed turban on his head. His 4 year old son Ajai Singh was placed in his lap. The twenty odd sardars marched behind the elephant and this special procession then passed through the streets of Delhi, and headed for the Kutub-ud-din mausoleum of Bahadur Shah, near the present Kutab Minar. On reaching that graveyard, the captives were again offered a choice of two alternatives: conversion to Islam or death. Needless to say all chose death. The Sikh sardars were subjected to tortures before being executed. Their heads were then impaled on spears and arranged in a circle round Banda who was now squatting on the ground.

Banda Singh was then given a short sword and ordered to kill his own son Ajai Singh. As he sat unperturbed, the cxecutioner moved forward and plunged his sword into the little child cutting the hody into two. Then pieces of flesh were cut from the body and thrown in Banda's face. His liver was removed and thrust into Banda Singh's mouth. Banda was offered Islam or Death
He chose death

Almost all religions encourage the conversion of "thy neighbor". No religion would survive if it didn't encourage it's followers to promote it. Islam happen to spread particularly well through the middle east, asia and africa because the trade routes established hundreds of years ago ran across these regions, the same way christianity spread through europe because it became the official religion of the Roman Empire. While a lot of the information isn't heavily publicized it can be found in most history text books or some encyclopedias. So, put simply, not just Islam, but all religions encourage conversion, the forcefulness of the conversion is at the discretion of missionaries (many of whom in any religion tend to be extremists)

i am a muslim convert for about 30 years. No muslim forced me, paid me, or bribed me to convert . In fac, they even asked me if i knew what is the teachings of my former religion and why would i want to convert. They even encouraged me to seek and compare islam with other religion. The more i compare, the more logical i find islam.
Islam don't need to enlarged their membership. In fact, they'll gain more if they have more non muslim in their state because of special taxes for special considerations.
If history is what you refer, you misunderstood it. Why would the community convert to other religion if it is not true. They will fight for it if forced upon. Have you read the history in Spain, the andalucias? All muslims would be vanquished if they don't leave spain. About the 3rd crusade? When the christians occupied jerusalem, all muslim, man, woman, and children were slaughtered, together with the jews and christian arabs and animals in the city. They were not given the option to leave the city.
Have an open mind, free yourself from guilt and conscience by knowing what is the truth.Avoid a blind faith so that people won't laugh behind your back.

Because how else would they get some sucker to do their bidding . They are just recruiting whoever will be stupid enough to follow them . It's like the blind leading the blind . They also are deceiving people with their false doctrine . In the Bible it says to expose that which is evil . Not go around murdering innocent people for a jihad . Or convincing the young , ( which is naive to begin with) , to go blow themselves up for a lie . Romans 12:19 God will destroy every last one in the everlasting fire of Hell .

IT IS FUNNY BUT A RELIGION SHOULD BE THAT STRONG IN ITSELF THAT IT DOES NOT REQUIRE PREACHING AND INCREASING FOLLOWERSHIP.I AM AFRAID ISLAM IS A VERY YOUNG RELIGION LESS THAN 2000 YEARS OLD AND PROVIDES NO LOGICAL PHILOSOPHY OVER THE EXISTENCE OF LIFE AND MATTER.
I BELIEVE THE MUSLIMS ARE VERY SCARED OF THE FACTS RELATED TO THEIR RELIGION THAT CELEBRATES BY KILLING INNOCENT ANIMALS SOMEWHERE DEEP IN THEIR HEARTS.ELSE THEY ARE FAR FAR AWAY FROM REALITY.
REMEMBER GOOD ALWAYS WINSN OVER BAD.
I PRAY ISLAM SURVIVES BUT GOES UNDER CHANGES AND BECOME MORE HUMAN.
ISLAM CURRENTLY HAS A BARBARIC ASPECT RELATED TO IT.

Maybe the same reason Christians are so forceful in trying to convert people....they think their way is the right and only way.

It seems to be correct to say that held belief is that the use of "force" is a productive means to an end.

This seems senseless to those of us who are too stubborn to react to the "force" stimulus.

Mind you, this is not to blanket Islam, and definitely applies to anyone who uses "force."

On that particular aspect, Islam and Christianity go hand in hand. I just hope that they want to learn from our history: Inquisition, witch burning, capitalism and foreign missions as joint ventures, etc.; and that they refrain from their actions just as a minority of Christians did.
