Strange, isn't it? Supposedly we have free will, but if God knows someone he is "creating" is going to use that free will in the wrong way, why does God send that person to Hell? Or if Hell is the state of not being with God, why did God bother to create that person in the first place?

Good question. Unfortunately god can't know who's who because there's no god. But again, good question about why are we here...I guess there were too many apes and they each wanted private trees and all hell break loose so some broke loose alright and got down on the ground.

The question that we have asked since time began. I can tell you what I think today but I may change my mind tomorrow. Today I think we are here to learn from each other. We have brilliant minds(well most of us) but we have emotions too. We have a real need for the spiritual and when those needs aren't met we try to fill them with all kinds of things. I think we are energy. At times we can be positive or negative. That is what I think free will is. We were created. As such we can be destroyed. I think the biggest thing is to help one another and learn from one another. To quote the Beatles "All you need is love." I know where my source of love comes from but I can't force the rest of the world to see it my way. I can try to be an example. I definitely love to learn about others and try and treat them with respect. I wish others could have treated me with some instead of calling me names and saying stfu when I asked certain questions. Hope I gave you something to think about.

We have free will, we get to choose for ourselves, God does not do the choosing for us. Maybe He does have a pretty good idea of which we will choose, but He lets us do it anyway. Maybe He even knows for absolutely sure who will fail, but He still lets us go thru the process. We are here to live, to learn, to spiritually prosper or to fail, that is why we are here. God gives us plenty of time and space to make our own way or choose His. He always encourages us to do well, and gives us plenty of feedback when we do poorly to help us improve, it is up to us to listen or not, to love or not, to grow or not, to learn or to think we know it all. I hope this helps you in some way.

God does have a plan for every one of us—and the reason is because He loves us, and wants us to have what is best for us.
You see, if He didn't care for us, then He wouldn't care what we did with our lives.
If we wrecked our lives or wasted them, it wouldn't make any difference to Him—if He didn't care. But He does care what happens to us! He doesn't want us to drift through life without any meaning or purpose, nor does He want us to throw our lives away or destroy them. He loves us, and He knows all about us; Jesus said, "Even the very hairs of your head are all numbered" by God (Matthew 10:30).
Never forget: God is far greater than we are. No, we can't imagine trying to keep track of every person on earth—but God can do it because He is greater than we are. The Bible says, "As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts" (Isaiah 55:9).
How do I know God loves us and cares about us? I know it because He sent His only Son into the world to save us and bring us back to Himself. Sin has separated us from God—but on the cross all our sins were placed on Christ, and He took the penalty we deserve. Yes, God loves us—and He loves you. Respond to His love today by giving your life to Christ. Then ask Him to show you His plan for your life, and He will.
