i learn English with the tape.

I found that English speakers say the word "heard" like saying "read".
the text is "I heard", but the recorder says "I read"
the text is "I've heard", but the recorders says "I've read".

why?

Most soldiers I know have resolved themselves to hell because of their choice of occupation. As a soldier, we see too much and do some pretty terrible things in the name of securing a nation. I have doubts that, a person who is designed to kill, even if in the name of another, can ever truly repent of these things. So, are we just creators of chaos, or are we giving the ultimate sacrifice... the loss of eternal redemption, to ensure those we serve remain free?
