I'm a Canadian who has lived in the US, Indonesia, Saudi Arabia and Thailand. In Saudi, people will sometimes get so angry at your honking, that they will threaten you. From my extensive travels, I've observed that it is Italians which honk the most.

Are you talking about India? I wouldn't be surprised if they were honkers like the Italians. So, overall, I think your premise may be incorrect and you shouldn't prejudge honkers by the level of sovereign development. It has more to do with national character.

My gosh, this question is too sweeping.. and anti social too! May I tell you that NOT ALL drivers in less developed countries do as you say. have you been to all of the less developed countries?

I suggest that you should go around the world and visit all of the less developed countries first to see for yourself what's happening before you make a sweeping statement like this. For all you know, sorry to say this, but there are people who are more "educated" than you.

Because they want to tell people in more developed countries that they have cars like theirs. So, this makes them feel both are equal with a bit more boastful, arrogant and attention-attracting ego. A childish game, isn't it??
