It you're not in good shape mentally, i.e. not happy in life or something, don't try what I have to say: Meditation.

I used to meditate for about 20 minutes a day. Sometimes as long as an hour. There are many different ways to meditate. I closed my eyes and pictured a yellow glowing sphere or something like this and focused on it, attempting to silence all thought, i.e. to stop the mind from thinking, racing, wondering what I'll be doing later and so on. Just sit there silently in a quiet place and drown out everything except what I was looking at with my third eye (aka the mind's eye).

In time I became that guy that could be talking to one person and hear someone else utter a phone number and be able to remember it two days later. This improved my memory to an almost shocking degree.

But remember, don't screw with this unless you can handle it because meditation can bring about strong upset if you're not in good shape, especially if you continue to do it. It can be a bit like playing with fire.

If you're into this, the safest thing to do is do a little bit each day, i.e. start with 2 mintues one day, then 3 the next, then 5, then 8, then 10, etc. working your way up LITTLE BY LITTLE. It takes a bit of dedication. If you do drugs regularly or drink every other night or take heavy pyschiatric medicine or something , don't mess with it, nothing can help the memory in that case. You can check out meditation on the net but there will probably be a million sites. It's a simple thing - sit, close your eyes, make a picture of something in your mind, focus on that picture and silence all thought. It's not an absolute must that you silence all thought, just trying to do so will be enough. You get better in time.

I take the help of a unused diary, where i write month-wise, date-wise birthdays, anniversaries. I refer them say on Sunday, and note them on to my mobile phone-organiser [schedule-addevent] and wall calendar for the coming week or two weeks.
This diary is useful for several years.

One way of remembering dates/things is BY-HEARTING, AND RELATING SOMETHING TO IT.

Write them on a calender. I can't remember anything important if it isn't written down.

get a dry erase board and hang it up by your closet so you can write down important dates and then you'll see it everyday when you go to get ready. plus u can erase it whenever which saves paper and money.
