What is some good readings from the bible to read, and does anyone have some good advice on some Christian work one can do?

When someone tries to defend the homosexual lifestyle, for example, I simply remind him that Leviticus 18:22 clearly states it to be an abomination. End of debate.

I do, however, need some advice regarding some of the specific laws and how to best follow them.

a) When I burn a bull on the altar as a sacrifice, I know it creates a pleasing odor for the Lord (Lev 1:9). The problem is my neighbors. They claim the odor is not pleasing to them. Should I smite them?

b) I would like to sell my daughter into slavery, as sanctioned in Exodus 21:7. In this day and age, what do you think would be a fair price for her?

c) I know that I am allowed no contact with a woman while she is in her period of menstrual uncleanliness (Lev 15:19-24). The problem is, how do I tell? I have tried asking, but most women take offense.

My 87 year old aunt is visiting with me. My Mom, her sister, is dead. My aunt has been like a Mom since I was 14; and through her, I was able to attend college.She has always encouraged me.While I was brushing my teeth today I heard her open the front door.Nobody was outside; and she seemed surprised as she had heard a knock.. Of course older people may imagine things but when my parents were alive, they scolded me once for knocking on the door and disappearing.Why they were certain it was me remains a mystery.I was sleeping at the time of the incident. I have heard knocks and thought it was my brother.Sometimes he would appear moments later and deny having knocked on the door previously.I suspect spiritual implications because my aunt was adamant about moving to another bedroom.I have decided to listen,My parents used to do things at times that seemed odd to explain at the time too. Any comments and advice would be appreciated.

The actions of Israel make me wonder just what value they place on us goyim. Is it one Jew's life is worth a hundred in retaliation or is it more like one Jew's life is worth a thousand gentiles?

I'm not talking about foreigner’s sneaking into the borders illegally. I mean, bringing young girls over to America with legitimate passports and selling them as Sex slaves. I was singing in my youth ministry today, everyone had just come back from camp, and everyone was really enflamed for Jesus, you know, and we started singing and everyone gathered around the stage, clapping, jumping, hands raised, eyes closed, praising. What if God is only going to send those people to heaven that have the courage not to believe in him? What if everyone else is going to hell? I think this demonstrates the ridiculousness of Pascal's wager. It's a terrible argument and I don't understand why people keep using it to try and persuade atheists.
