~*~ full immersion into the language.. if you move to a country that speaks it and find yourself forced to learn it out of necessity.. trust me you will learn spanish.. also, it will be much more valuable than trying to learn from any school, course, etc.. I don't think it matters at what age you learn it.. ~*~

Well, if it wasn't a good idea to try and learn as a teen, they wouldn't teach it in high schools. =P
A good way to learn is to find a local class. The BEST way to learn however, is to live in an area where they speak Spanish, and nothing else. That way, you're forced to learn it to communicate, and you'll end up being much better at speaking the language than a class will ever get you.

Its always easier to learn it while your younger, but anyone can learn at any age.
Take some classes and get some tapes or cd's that teach spanish.
Pimsleur is a great company that makes language cd's. They're great because you don't need books to learn. You can visit their web-site to purchase the cd's.
Or, if you live in the U.S. or Canada, you can visit a Talking Book World store where you can rent or purchase the Pimsleur - Spanish cd's.
