I believe it is a bunch of Bologna, too, created by falliable men to gain power, and control, and forward their own ideas.

As a "oneness" Christian and Swedenborgian, I believe in Jesus Christ not organized churches.
Statements of faith and creeds is what went wrong in Christianity. The Athanasian Creed and Nicene Creed are wrong because if there is a God in the heavens, that God is one and does not like being called "three persons" all the time.
Also, faith without good is what is wrong with the Protestant Churches because heaven depends on a life of love and charity toward your neighbor. The wicked can't get into heaven.
So I would read the Bible and the Universal Theology of the New Church, not argue with organized churches all the time. Some Swedenborgians go into organized churches but the Universal Theology of the New Church is always rejected. If a church is organized around the Nicene Creed or Calvinist doctrines it is too late to accept Swedenborg's doctrine.

That is really old communist rhetoric. Geeez couldn't you come up with some better way of expressing it. Yes, I think the poor are controlled with psychotropic drugs and told to accept their lot by many. Not necessarily Christians either. But I don't think the church or organized religion was created for that purpose at all. I think it was created because when humanity looked out into the universe its a huge big cold lonely place and they didn't want to be alone, so they thought of God and religion. It helped them structure and organize their lives, perform rites of passage and signify important events in their lives. It also helped them get rid of guilt and made them feel like someone was there to help them when things seemed overwhelming. The truth is we are all an energy life form that goes into human bodies again and again. Creates and recreates to enjoy the experience of living and feeling and expressing. One day it will tire of this and wink we will all be gone back to the original energy source,The Father/Mother.

I DON'T!!!!! I like the religion I am in. I am one of Jehovah's Witnesses. The witnesses do not ask for any money, they tell you there is a contribution box at the front of the Kingdom Hall and if you want to contribute you can, but you don't have to. The JW religion is very organized and we are very peaceful people. The JW religion can NOT say that a Jehovah's Witness in one country has gone to another country and killed another Jehovah's Witness. We are organized as in, If you go to a kingdom hall in Florida or if you go to one in China, We will both be studying the exact same thing. Contact me for more information if you want to.

Well, if your statement were true, then there would be no Christians who were wealthy. That just isn't the case, even back in medieval times.
The largest problem with religion is people confuse Christendom with Christianity. They are NOT the same. There is a huge difference. Christendom is into politics, money, wars, nationalism, murder, greed, unchristian holidays, lies, false worship, idolatry, etc. In fact, the Bible says their sins rise to the heavens.
My suggestion, find the true Christ-llike ones. All you have to do is look.

I have to agree with you but not all organized religion are as bad as some. Take the Roman Catholic Church, read about the herritics and inquesition. Read about why Martin Luther left the church. Check out all the money the Church has and what they do with it compared to other religions.

Actually organized religion was seldom founded with such an intent. However, that has often been the end result. If you study the founders of the world's religions you will not often find any hint of an alterior motive behind it.

You are correct. Organized religion is "man made". Its design is to control large populations. God us used for guilt value. It also lets the "working population" feel better about their life here on earth because they will receive great riches for maintaining "status quo".
Each religion is tailored around the culture and what it is currently trying to accomplish.

Nothing new today, either.
I think you're going to start seeing a lot of "crossover" products, such as weight loss with a religious twist to it, to not only get people who want to lose weight, but the jesus freaks as well. There's a lot of money in religion.
