I mean other churches problaly can't even tell you who started their religion but we can. We have a direct link with Jesus who told peter to start a church in matthew 16: 17-19. That same verse is in almost every bible so why won't "Christians" deny the church that Jesus told to start? To have any excuse would be denyin what Christ set up. He told peter and I quote" I will ive you the keys to the kingdom of heaven. Whatever you bind on earth it would be bound in heaven and whatever you loose on earth would be loose in heaven. So if the church Jesus set up requires something of you to not do it you would be punished to how the church said you would be punished.

Please choose only one--even if you're "conflicted", try to select your top answer. Please also share "why" you would live in the city that you chose. (To make this more interesting, please do not select the place that you are already living.)

I keep seeing post after post, here, where "rich people" are denegrated. I also see it in TV ads, in bad novels, in the newsaper (especially the NY Times), and just about every other place you can thnk of. I'm ready to open a jar of peanut butter and have a pop-up flag tell me that "the rich" want the working stiffs of America under the heels of their boots.

AND YET....everyone here dreams of being a millionaire.

Can anyone offer an explanation, however bizarre? Thank you so much. I'll be quiet, now.

Take, for example, the works of Philo Judaeus who's birth occurred in 20 B.C.E. and died 50 C.E. He lived as the greatest Jewish-Hellenistic philosopher and historian of the time and lived in the area of Jerusalem during the alleged life of Jesus. He wrote detailed accounts of the Jewish events that occurred in the surrounding area. Yet not once, in all of his volumes of writings, do we read a single account of a Jesus "the Christ." Nor do we find any mention of Jesus in Seneca's (4? B.C.E. - 65 C.E.) writings, nor from the historian Pliny the Elder (23? - 79 C.E.).

If, indeed, such a well known Jesus existed, as the gospels allege, does any reader here think it reasonable that, at the very least, the fame of Jesus would not have reached the ears of one of these men?
Matthew 2 describes Herod and all of Jerusalem as troubled by the worship of the infant Jesus. Herod then had all of the children of Bethlehem slain. If such extraordinary infanticides of this magnitude had occurred, why didn't anyone write about it?

I would just like to know why people cannot read the complete question when you post it?
I asked one, and not one person answered the actual question. Why is that?
is it that people are to busy rushing through everything to take a moment to answer a darn question.

I am a letter carrier at the post office and have a friend at the gas station on my route . He is from Pakistan , we get along very well and have become good friends. Race , religion or politics have never entered our conversations.
I am not a very religious person but I believe as long as you are honest and never hurt anyone out of malice you are truly a good person.
