Cremation does in one hour what decay does in millennia. We all go back to the dust.
For those who think that cremation prevents God from restoring the body and soul if you're cremated have a very limited idea of God. Cannot the God who created heaven and earth, and sustains the breath of life in us, also reform someone from ashes, even if spread throughout the ocean? Surely He can!

Gen.19:24; I think for the lawless people being so much greater than any able to do any thing about it caused God to cremate all in Sodom and Gomorrah, but Matt.10:15; shows that they are in the kingdom on judgement day Heb.9:27; It is appointed unto man once to die and after that the judgement. 1Cor.15:22; As in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.
Gehenna or the valley of Hinnom was a place that might become a death and burial place in [ hell fire ], fire and brimstone city dump Mark 9:42-48 tell it best, but Matt.10:28; Jesus told his disciples they could be resurrected from there and that would be equal to cremation. Rev.20:1-6,12,13; No matter where the dead are, in sea, or in death, they are brought back.

Right off I can't give an exact quote from the Bible, however the body is the temple of the Holy Spirit and should be treated as such...with great respect. Cremation is only okay if you died from a contagious disease. Ashes should be burried, not strewn all over the universe. One day when the ressurrection of our bodies takes place so that that we can be fully in Heaven/Hell both body and soul, do you really want to be scrambling around searching for minute particles of your body? or not knowing where the heck it went because the wind carried it off (in the form of ashes)?

Yes I have also thought maybe having my ashes loaded along with water into one of those water fire extinguishers and having the funeral director hose down everyone that came to see me off..... On a serious note: 1kings 13 & 23, has something bad to say about cremation. On the other hand the Egyptians buried bodies in "coffins" but the Hebrews would gather the "bones" after the flesh had decomposed into ossuary boxes, these "boxed" bones were far more compact for storage. Then one must ask, what of the thousands burned at the stake for believing God's word as recorded in Foxes book of Martyrs? Whose ashes mingled with the Bibles burned alongside them were desecrated? Given enough time we return to the dirt we are made of physically. The Bible says where your soul "ends up" is where your concern should be. BTW the real answers from the Bible can only be found by reading it yourself, the clue is in the sevens, the word of the LORD is as pure as silver tried seven times, it takes at least seven readings end to end to strip all those doctrines from your eyes.

Actually Catholics are allowed to be cremated. The Church did not allow it at one time because people did it as a way to deny the resurrection of the body.

Not that I am aware of, but Catholics believe that people should not be cremated, because when Jesus comes again our soul and body need to be together again. That is what I have been told anyway.

nope
but you'll get arguments from many who seem to believe you will rise at Christ's return and if your body is gone you're screwed. I say they're screwed....in the head.
