My son does not know about the Bible, but I want him to understand that there is a horrible horned supernatural beast that flays the skin off of people in a lake of fire. If he cries, I'll tell him it's this other guys idea, named God, don't blame me.

about 20 chinese who i speak to, have said i'm not american because i dont' sound "AMERICAN", "you're english is not fluent". I have spanish(hispanic parents) accent but i was born in usa. And i don't like to make an New york, california or whatever accent even if i can.. i like to speak with my accent, so why these people and Even American white people or black who do use "american" accents, why do they criticize me so much and discriminate just because of this. The asians i talk to always differentiate between white americans who are supposedly "REal americans" and people like me who are according to them "immigrants living in america"..I'm fed up with them.. i thought only 1 or 5 of them would discriminate me but i talked to like 30 or more and they all say this. So , i could never be an English teacher in Japan or China right? Because i'm not considered american by them

I am just wondering because I dont believe in god and therefore would not get married because I am not religious...but some people still do even though they dont believe isnt that rather hypocritical?? Also why would gay/lesbian people want to get married when religion and churches are so against them? If I was a lesbian I would want to make up an entirely different kind of legal/spiritual union that had nothing to do with organized religion.

Earlier, another fellow Christian made the following statement: "Abortion is murder. It is an evil act, regardless of circumstances. There is no justification whatsoever for deliberately killing an unborn child."

Im curious how a Christian would approach this situation: On walking home from a Church meeting, you are attacked and raped by an AIDS packing, mentally retarded person. You become pregnant, and the child is known to have AIDS. Do you carry the child for nine months and give birth to it and raise it as your own??

Similarily, you are raped by your father, and a child is conceived through incest. It is known that the child will have birth defects due to the incestual factors. Do you still keep the baby, or would you abort is either scenario??

Just curious...

I am really confused, the first time I heard of this so called "religon" was on E news talking about Tom Cruise. Then I go to the website and everthing is great, they talk about improving yourself, your marriage, making your children brighter. Then you strart researching and people are saying its a cult, or that it was a get rich quik scheme by Ron Hubbard (the founder). There is so much mixed info I just dont know what to think. And how is it a religeon? The only was I determined that they consider themselves a religeon was because it was mentioned on the same story about cruise. The scientology website seems to point more at the fact like they a self help organization. very odd. any info or thoughts would be helpful!

I'm not trying to be mean or full of myself. I'm a military wife with a law degree and I'm fluently trilingual, but due to my husband's job I seem to end up meeting mostly other military wives - and the ones I've met so far seem unbelievably dense and more concerned with "keeping up with the Joneses" and endlessly boring stories about poopy diapers that it seems impossible to find someone to have an intellectually stimulating conversation with! What's more is that I come from a good family with solid moral values, a good education and social background - and I feel like I'm surrounded by a bunch of white trash hicks! HELP!

They create hell, here on earth for everyone else.

Your ridiculous childish religions are the cause of more wars and violence on this planet than any other source. (With Capitalism and Communism coming in a close second.) Your superstitious beliefs attempt to hold science back from helping people. Your intollerance infests our society. Your children are indoctrinated into your fraud and they bring the vile mythology into the next generation.

This world could be an absolute paradise if all of you would just SHUT THE HELL UP ABOUT YOUR GOD.

The world doesn't need your beliefs.
The world needs to be liberated from your mythology.

Cops are getting trigger happy with tasers. They are tasing children, older people, and even citizens that do minor things. Here is a videoclip of a woman being tased after a minor traffic stop. Tasers should be banned from law enforcement.

Why do so many people throw all people who say they are Christians into one lump and then say that because some have been terrible and used religion in a self-serving way (which admitably, a small percentage have) that Christianity must be wrong because of those people.
I would never lump atheists together, look for the terrible ones, like Stalin, and say that because there are some doing really bad things that that is why atheism seems so wrong. So why is this logic used against Christianity and other religions?
Of course there are people who claim to be Christians who aren’t, and use it for evil and greed. There are people in every facet of life who do that. So why do some people judge Christianity based on the actions of a few people who probably aren't even Christians?

make fun of those people who seemingly ask serious questions? I know there are a lot of people on here that ask some really dumb or say some really hurtful things but for the most part the questions seem to me to be looking for honest answers. Especially on this forum. I am not a christian and my beliefs are mine but i like to learn new things and if one is going to get bashed for asking a question then they will not want to ask them any longer and therfore they will stop learning. Now my question is why would anyone want to stop another from expanding their horizons?

The more you know The more you grow.

Fundies on the loose again! How we love these religious creatures!

How do you stop it? Reading this blurb I dont think you can.

The Message is aimed at the world's 1.4 billion Muslims, many of whom have been engaged in a civil war of ideas for the last three centuries, the period of Muslim political decline. The successive fall of mighty Muslim empires, such as the Moghuls in India and eventually the Ottomans in the Middle East, led Muslims to inquire into the causes of their downfall. Instead of recognizing scientific and intellectual stagnation as the reason for their lack of material progress, many early Muslim revivalists attributed Muslim debility to a combination of Western conspiracies and Muslim neglect of military preparedness.
