make fun of those people who seemingly ask serious questions? I know there are a lot of people on here that ask some really dumb or say some really hurtful things but for the most part the questions seem to me to be looking for honest answers. Especially on this forum. I am not a christian and my beliefs are mine but i like to learn new things and if one is going to get bashed for asking a question then they will not want to ask them any longer and therfore they will stop learning. Now my question is why would anyone want to stop another from expanding their horizons?

The more you know The more you grow.

It is easy to sound mean over a computer. without being face to face you cant really know the other persons true feelings unless they clearly tell you how they feel. I know I come across as rude sometimes because I dont take the time write down how I am feeling at that moment. Most of the time I just write an answer not thinking that the person reading it will get offended. That is where I am trying to be more careful. I love people, I dont want to hurt anyone. Jesus loves you.

Keep asking questions, people who want to stop another expanding their horizons are probably boring with very low self esteem.
However remember don't always be too serious, we all have to act a little silly at times !

because ppl are scared of what they don't understand. they can't see things from any perspective but their own. some ppl don't have the same knowledge, and so when some one asks a question that a group of ppl knows the answer to instantly they figure that everyone knows that and insult the person. Religion especially is a very sensitive topic and if ppl think that some one is questioning what they believe they become hostile. it's so sad that this is how it happens.

hello:}
the only reason someone would judge or make fun of someone Else's growth is basically ignorance ,there is no other reason for it .
being open means also getting responses from all kinds of characters ,sometimes these people simply think they know everything when in reality they are so limited it is almost scary .
being open and searching for your own truth is never a waste of time .many people also label themselves a certain religious type ,this in itself is limiting and closes off all other knowledge .one does not have to take on anothers belief system .but it would be nice if everyone would listen and be able to discuss different aspects of spirituality and god .
best to you and do not let ignorant people bother you .

i am sorry but i don't think that they want to stop anyone from expanding their horizons, just that they themselves have smaller horizons and cannot believe that there is any other thought (right or wrong) than their own. and of course if they know a common answer then every one aught to because it would just be unbelievable that someone might not know it. terrible little world we live in isn't it.

just as there are some people here to ask dumb questions, there are others here to give dumb answers. Thats just how it is!

Perhaps they have something to hide? Maybe they are fearful of the answers? Maybe to try to make themselves look witty and superior?

Either way, it is a sorry practice. Luckily there are enough of us here who will try to give helpful answers.
