God bless and thanks for helping
I admit, I'm a new Christian and do not understand many aspects of the creation. But I believe in the Bible fully.
I often talk to my friend (an agnostic) about the Bible and the creation. He pretty much asked me, "Why is there the present distribution of animals and plants in the world? For example, how is it that marsupials are restricted to Australia and nearby islands and the Americas, monotremes to Australia and nearby islands, and few placental mammals are native to Australia? Or why are tomatoes and potatoes native to the Americas only?" He said this is not a question merely of how they could have arrived there, it is also of why ONLY there.
I thought the answer would be that God put things where they were suited, but he pointed out how most plants and animals are not suited for one area only and do just fine when taken to other parts of the world (in fact, he said there is a big problem with exotic species because of this).
