1st i would say there is no such thing as "foolish thing" it does not exist in reality . It is a story told by an observer. So if all the observers get in on it - and do not see it as a foolish thing - the story foolish will cease to exist! from my point of view - it is agreement which creates reality as we usually know it.

Does a fool know that he is being foolish? That is why it is so important to seek out wise council from others who are both knowledgable on earthly wisdom and spiritual wisdom, so you may come to your own understanding, and not trust the words of a fool.

The vast majority of people in this world believe in silly or foolish things. That doesn't mean that we can disrespect those beliefs but that doesn't mean either that they are not silly beliefs. What is, is!!!
