I don't believe in God, mainly because I think he acts like a prick. But from what I know, you don't have to LIKE God to go to heaven, you just have to believe in him and not sin. So Even if you hate him you still go to heaven?

What? So you're telling me god isn't bias? He only takes people into heaven if he LIKES them? That's just another thing about the guy I hate, he don't love us all. He only loves those who worship him.

If you hate him, why would you want to spend eternity in his house? Do you think you'd like being in a place run by someone you think is "a prick?"

(I'm ignoring the "I don't believe in..." part of your comment, 'cos obviously you *do* believe in him. "Believe in" doesn't mean "worship.")

Whether a person goes to heaven depends on who you ask. Some people say you have to follow a long list of rules. Some say you just have to be a good, loving person. But those people usually say that God is love, and that you can't be a loving person and hate God. You can hate *the stories about God* that have been interpreted by people, but they say that some of those stories have been misunderstood.

They're all pretty consistent about "you have to follow God's rules to get into heaven." They disagree on what those rules are... but the two big ones for modern Christians are "you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and mind and soul" and "you shall love your neighbor as yourself."

If you think God created everyone & everything, and you love other people and the world around you (I mean the trees rocks rivers sky part, not the war smog politics part created by humans), then how can you not at least respect the one who made it all?

Unless you think he didn't make it, in which case, why would you think there's a heaven to worry about getting into?

It sounds to me like you really do believe in God...by the sounds of it, the Christian God at that. If you have an idea on how "He" acts, you must accept automaticaly that he exists or He couldn't act like a prick...He just wouldn't be. You also have some idea of heaven..another God/Christian (or many ohers really) indicator. Sin...oooh I smell a soured Christian. Something go wrong in your life recently? God just could let this happen to me? I don't mean to sound mocking. I hope that you haven't experienced something terrible and this is just a philosophic question.

Anyway, in a Christian ethic, I would expect that you probably couldn't get past the Pearly Gates if you truly hate your God. Kinda twisted really.

Maybe you should consider finding a different God/god/gods. Study. Ask/pray for truth or/and understanding. Remember though, NOBODY really knows...even if they jump up and down, rant and rave, cajole and intimidate, and sound like they know. They just have faith...and faith is a very comforting thing. We almost all want to help others and if we find something good we naturally want to share it. With many religions, this wish to share and help may get to the point of taking a life rather than see that life without the comfort of "God".

Personally I hope there is God, but I'll take a god or gods as long as they are compasionate and let me into their club. I will also say to be careful of zealots of anysort...kinda twisted folks actually. Many religious folks are very narrow minded and can only barf back what they have been indoctrinated with.

How could you hate someone that you don't believe exists? You can't hate something that does not exist. If you don't believe in God, then there is no way you could believe in Heaven, because Heaven belongs to God. If you don't believe in him, how would you know him to even judge if he acts like a prick. If you don't like him then why would you want to go to Heaven? I think you need to get to know God, I think you are very confused!

How can you say you don't believe in God, and then say He acts like a prick? The only way into Heaven in to ask Jesus(God's one and only Son) to dwell in your heart and forgive you of your sins. When you do this, God becomes your father. No one can live a day without sinning, we all fall short of God's glory. But He forgives us if we truly repent and ask His forgiveness. But why in the world would you hate someone who gave His life for you?

Nope - Wrong. If you hate God then you cannot possibly go to heaven. How do you hate the very being that made you? That I do not understand. It is cool that you believe, but to hate is not what God looks for - God is Love and wants that to be displayed in you. If you hate then that is of the world which does not like God anyways.

Do you not realize that God is like a loving Father who cares about you very much? Maybe you have had a bad experience with your earthly parents and life has been pretty difficult and depressing for you, but you must know that God is not from this earth so He will not treat you in the same way. You cannot compare the love of people from the earth to the love and blessings that God has prepared for those who put their trust in Him.

Satan believes in God and he hates God so were do you really think you will go if you hate. Hate is the opposite of Love evoL. There will be no hate in The Kingdom of Heaven.

No. You can not go to heaven if you hate God...

For a brief explanation of the gospel (of salvation through Jesus Christ), see http://www.godsci.org/gs/new/essence.html

It is not sufficient to just "intellectually believe" in God to be saved. There has to be sincere repentance for our sins and a turning away from them (as we commit our lives to Christ).

It is true however that if you have never ever sinned in your life, then you will go to heaven (but I can guarantee you that if that is the case in your life, and you are past the age of innocence, you are the only adult human who has ever accomplished this feat)... In that case, my hat's off to you...

Cordially,
John

The trouble is, unless you have a relationship with God (one of love, not hate), you are a slave of sin. Which means you sin, and you die (spritually). The wonderfull oppertunity for us to have a living relationship with God and have all our sins forgiven if we repent from them is wasted if you hate God (as well as going to heaven). Perhaps an anylisis of why you hate God would also be wise in this situation, as I fail to see any reason for it.

If you hate him, can you truly accept him as your lord and savior. I am guessing not, and that is what the condition is, not that you believe in him, but that you have a relationship with him. Jesus even said that even the demons believe in God, but i tdoesn't mean they are on their way to heaven.
I am curious to know why you think he is a prick though.
