If this omnipotent all knowing god is all knowing, why can't she see exactly what every life ends up like? Does she switch off a bit of her knowledge so we can have free will and if so is she therefore not all knowing after all? And why is she so bothered about her creations being good. If she really wanted us to be good, why didn't she build it in to us like she built in the heart beat?
I suspect she doesn't really exist or if she does she's got a flawed personality issue. Requiring some little minions on a backwater piece of space rock to praise her doesn't come across as too mature and shows some deep rooted insecurities for such a supposedly powerful being.

Surely all these people who think god must be male are either misguided in assuming that god has any sexual orientation or are being really insulting to women?

What we accept as God is logical. If we took evil as a way of life, then life wouldn't exist, it's logical that wrong doing and destruction would end life. So, good, and the Ten Commanments is our only salvation, and I think most people realize that. Forgiveness is character growth a path toward salvation, and is one of the hardest thing to accept, but we have to put some people in jail because they can't change, and would continue destroying life, that's not a logical step to continued peace. Mankind is always in a struggle between good and evil, and has a choice. I think God is watching over all of us to see what path we chose. Dictators think they know what's best for all people, but the majority of the people know what's best for peace, that's why democracy works, and why the United States is the strongest nation in the world.

I think the answer lies in your assumption...that things are either bad or good.

What is bad for one person is good for another. Osam Ben Laden thinks those that do not follow his religious beliefs are bad and that it is good to kill those he considers infidels. Many that live in the U.S. think it is good to kill those that have killed someone else, as is in our death penalty. Others think that is "bad." Also what is good at one point in time is frequently bad at another point in time. Once in the history of the U.S. it was thought to be good to burn at the stake women that were perceived to be witches. Now such an action by society would be considered bad.

So, I don't think there is an absolute "good" or "bad." The definition of "good" or "bad" depends on your perception at a given point in time. I bet if you look back on your life there are probably a few things that you once considered as either "good" or "bad" that you now perceive as the other.

The parent that sees their child misbehaving doesn't think his or her child is "bad." The child's action may not be in the child's best interest, but the act and actor are separate and distinct and the parent knows that. I do not think the Universe (God) sees people as "good" or "bad," but as people who do not always do things that are in their highest and best good.

The parent that "let's" their child fall from a bicycle does not "switch off their knowledge" anymore than the Universe (God) switches off its knowledge. The parent knows that if the child turns the handle bars too quickly and too far to the right or left, the child may fall. The parent knows the consequences of the act. The parent also knows, however, the child learns from that child exercising the child's free will. We have the ability to grow and evolve because of our exercise of free will. If the child never exercised his or her free will, I doubt the child would ever learn to ride the bicycle. If that is true and the goal is to learn to ride the bicycle, then the parent would have done the child a diservice had he or she restricted the child's free will.

we all have to find that part of us that knows right from wrong we all have it if you did something wrong as a child it was a fluttering feeling in your belly or anxiety because you knew what you did was wrong and we should if we didnt have our heads stuck up our own bum still know that feeling e.g like the feeling if you ever played knock door run away. the reason people turn bad is a combination between environmental ,the primary carers, influence or lack of it , and the larger communities influence on the child we are not born bad or evil we are made that way and the sooner people realize this and accept how easy it is to influence a child's life the better . Then we will all live in a better world

God gave you and everyone else a choice. A choice to do anything that we want. Remember God does not need us at all. God wants us to come to Him for our needs or to follow the world. So, God does know everything, it is just that the choice issues is given to us. If God wanted us to be good 24/7 then He would have destroyed Satan right away and made us all into robots not having a choice and we would be in heaven automatically. It did not happen that way and here we are today.

In Judaism (and therefore in christianity) the formal name for God is androgenous (without gender).

Anyway, do you see yourself as evil? Would you prefer to be a puppet or free? Most people probably see themselves as generaally good and would prefer to be free.

And who says predestination isn't real, an all knowing and gentle God might very well know how bad you where going to be and let you do it.

Most religions, then require you to be sorry for your badness and try to make a mends, and change your way. Some may require that the scales balance in the favor good.

God knows who is bad or good, but he also know who will be bad or good. He allows most things to happen.

She, He, Whomever......is omnipotent. They do know all, They gave us free will because that's the way it's supposed to be. (She) is not Santa Claus, you don't get rewarded at the end of the year for being good or bad, you get rewarded at the end of the lifetime. and (She) doesn't ask for praise, more of just a thank you, i think. Yes, (She) is a jealous God....says so in the Bible and is proved everyday. (She) admits to being all powerful and wants the little minions to know it. That's where the free will comes in....believe or not, you ARE here.....someone besides your mom and dad did that....and you DO suspect there IS a Higher Power somewhere....you just admitted that with your question. You are a child of God as surely as you are a child of your parents. (She) wants the same respect and love you give and gave them.....Honor thou Mother and Father....and THAT particular Mother or Father wants the same honor bestowed upon your earthly parents.
(She) is not flawed, i do not believe, i believe we are....it is allowed....just not recommended. And, those are not insecurities, just little winks and nudges to (Herself) at the things we as people choose to do.
(She) sees you when you're sleeping (She) sees you when you wake, (She) knows if you've been bad or good, so be good for goodness sakes......

God is Spirit ---(gendered not implied)
Being good is a choice God wants mankind to decide --- we aren't robots---we all have been given free will ----and the bible is a guide to living the life that is pleasing to God --- but nonbelievers don't see the importance of doing this since their hearts and minds are on things of the world ---repent and ask the Lord to reveal His Word to you --- forgive your unrightousness and help you to grow in understanding of the bible's teaching. Seek out other believer's - fellowship with them and attend church and further your learning - develop your own relationship with the Lord.

You really think your so clever don't you? It this the sum of your existance, hating things you don't understand? I pitty you. Out of all the information out there both arguing for and against a supreme being, a creator of some sorts this is what you come up with as your belief?

There are so many ways to approach your "questions" but your obviously desire is not to seek an understanding or even seek and understanding of OTHER peoples faith but to stir the pot.

Well God made it so we can live our own lives, free will. Our judgment comes after we die, hopefully. But I do often wonder why God doesn't just strike down the most evil people, I know they would really piss me off if I was God! A well placed lightening strike would make a good point.

God knows beforehand how people will react in each circumstance. He allows people to make autonomous decisions, the choice to do good or evil. God’s foreknowledge of the evil that people perpetrate onto others caused Him to create within humans the ability to overcome that evil. And the good that people are capable of was predetermined by God to be blessed when doing good was chosen.
