In regards to Stephen Hawkins, man reaching out to the universe for his own survival. My question is, will man do the same things on a new world that he has done here? We already live in a garden of eden and we can't take care of it. I think we need to change here before we have any hope of surviving anywhere.

Based on Biblical context, do you think that Jesus would be for or against gay marriage? Please feel free to cite sources from the Bible and such.

I have a question. If you don't believe in GOD, why do you even bother getting on here? Is it just so you can trash other people's beliefs?

Many believe atheists are immoral people controlled by satan.

This is roughly what I believe as an atheist and as a humanist.

Is it really so awful ?

I recently read a book about a man living on the Internet for 30 days with no human contact. Wondered how long you think a human can survive in solitude before he/she begins to lose his/her mind? How much contact with our fellow human beings do we actually need?

Here are the quotes from Jesus that proves that he lied:

1) And Jesus answered and said to them, "Truly I say to you, if you have faith and do not doubt, you will not only do what was done to the fig tree, but even if you say to this mountain, `Be taken up and cast into the sea,' it will happen. "And all things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive." (Matthew 21:21-22 NAS)

2) Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives; and the one who seeks, finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened. (Matthew 7:7-8 NAB)

3) Again I say to you, that if two of you agree on earth about anything that they may ask, it shall be done for them by My Father who is in heaven. For where two or three have gathered together in My name, I am there in their midst. (Matthew 18:19-20 NAS)

Before they ate the fruit of the forbidden tree, Adam and Eve did not know right from wrong. Defying God, therefore, was not wrong....why punish them ?

There was a debate on Radio 4 this morning about whether women should be ordained as priests.
As an atheist I find it hard to see the rationale behind denying women the opportunity to become priests just because it says they can't in one part of the Bible.
Should the church be recognising that they can still keep the basic truth of Jesus' message whilst accepting more contemporary ideals? If not, will it harm the church to be so steeped in dogma that there doesn't appear to be any room to evolve?
I'm interested in both points of view.
Thanks!
