I recently read a book about a man living on the Internet for 30 days with no human contact. Wondered how long you think a human can survive in solitude before he/she begins to lose his/her mind? How much contact with our fellow human beings do we actually need?

People have lived solitary lives without human contact for years. Consider people who sail solo around the world or people who live alone in the woods. I'm sure there may be some mental coping that must go on, but it depends on the person. Social interaction is not necessary for survival.
