Why are most religious nuts uneducated and deny most of science so they can keep believing the bible?

Because it's easier to believe in some power that will tell you what to do and when to do it instead of taking responsibility for yourself. It's much easier to go through life when you don't have to think of all the complexities, contradictions and different shadings of life.
Why is your marriage falling apart? Not because you are an idiot jack-*** that doesn't pay attention to your wife or husband (or the simple idea of 'together until death' is really hard and silly'), but because homosexuals want to marry.
You are losing your job and feeling hopeless? Don't blame the corporations that don't care about you but are hoping by firing you and 30,000 others that they're profits rise by $1,000. Put your trust in God and believe he has a reason for everything.
You hear people talk about the universe and how big it is and you get scared; if the universe is so massive, and you're on one little planet, in a galaxy and one of 6 billion people, then you realize how unimportant you are. So, to make yourself feel better, you say you "didn't come from some monkey" and think God loves you and cares for you as a person.
Also, it's easier to be part of a group then by yourself because no matter what happens, you think you're all suffering or enjoying something together. The most religious people are the stupidest people as well as the most cruel. Remember, atheists have never burned and tortured people to death for believing in God and they never will.
