i'm just asking people who might have been there and seen it, because from what i've seen, there are girls with jeans and evveything now, i think it is, but i'm not sure??

I am from Karachi , just wearing jeans is what you call modernity ?
Modernity comes from thought and mindset .You are right ,Karachi and other cities like Lahore and very much developed and have a high life .
But i say moderation is the key and your dress should be according to the place you are living in .jeans is not a problem as long as it is covering your body .
I have seen Karachi and Lahore too, and Karachi is definitely developing and I am proud of its face .You'll find all sorts of people here .So definitely its getting modern with tradition ,but we have not forgotten our values and norms.

They are not modern in the same way that New York is, but they certainly have developed in the last 10 years - much like every major city in the world.
