I feel that with all of the technology that we currently have, we should be thinking bigger on a personal level as well. If you have anything to say about this, I would love to hear it!

Have you ever made the choice to never tell a lie again, for any reason? If so, what is your experience? If you haven't, do you think you could if you wanted to? If most people hate liars, then does that mean that they hate themselves as well? What do you think would be the possible outcome if no one ever lyed again?

More and more these days I hear Americans tell me they have "become" Buddhist. However, if I question them further about their beliefs they seem to lack any real understanding of the forms and history of Buddhism.

One example being, many converts claim they prefer Buddhism as it is inherently more peaceful. Most seem shocked when you mention war, violence, and abuse of power that took place in the name of Buddhism throughout history.

Other "Buddhists" seem shocked when you mention there are different sects than "meditating a lot".

I don't have a problem with most Buddhist sects, but I can't understand why people claim to convert to a religion without any understanding of the religion.

I want to start a project with my friends to help people in my comminuty (Harrisburg Pa area). There are many people here that are 'socially bankrupt' (they will take a handout - but will not accept real 'help' - and do not desire to try to help themselves). I want to find a way to communicate to these people that there are 'good people' around here who actually care, and want to help.

I have several friends (about 15 families) who are (or may become)interested in being part of this project - but probably would only be able to commit to actual 'work' every other week or at best once a week (we all have kids and full-time jobs).

I think that I can 'raise' about $100 a month (maybe more) to put towards this project. Perhaps if it becomes more sucessful, I could convince our church 'youth-group' to be part of it as well (one of my friends is the youth pastor of my church).

A little girl was sitting on her grandfather's lap as he
read her a goodnight story. From time to time, she would
take her eyes off the book and reach up to touch his wrinkled
cheek. Then, she would touch her own cheek, thoughtfully.

Finally she spoke, "Grandpa, did God make you?"

"Yes, sweetheart," he answered, "God made me a long time ago."

"Did God make me too?" she asked.

Yes, indeed, honey," he answered. "God made you just a
little while ago."

She touched his face and then her own again.

"He's getting better at it, isn't He?" she said ...

Today, people can accept they believe in God and under the unspecific name of GOD many people can join together as muslims and jews and christians. But why when someone says I believe in Jesus, people starts rejecting that person even offending him. This is like the matrix movie, we live in a world where we act we live but we dont know anything about the meaning or the purpose of ourselves in this life, and nobody ask theirselves am I living the truth of my life or is there something that I should know about my existence. I'm a believer and I'm pretty sure that right now you are feeling something negative against myself. I wont ask what can we do to make poverty history as the Millionair Bono guy with his ironic question: look at me I have so much money and I'm asking you what can we do to stop poverty...well I guess that his answer is in his bank account or in his pocket. But think about my question why do YOU (if so) would reject someone who believe in Jesus. Thank you all !!!

God is omniscent (or "all knowing" as the bible says). Know, knowledge is not fact untill it happens. I belive God can try to "push" us in the right direction, and he knows EVERYTHING. But he can't know the future. He knows all of the paths we can take in life, and the places we COULD end up. But I belive He doesn't even know the future...
(He was suprised Adam and Eve disobeyed him)
If you agree, say so. If you don't, say why.

I have parents of different ethnic groups; one is Angelo and the other is Mexican American. I refuse to answer the question that asks me to fill in one because I feel I am both. I have been told since I was a small boy to fill in one or the other depending on what it is for. If applying for a loan, for example, I've been told to put Angelo. If applying for an educational program to put of Mexican descent. I simply try to leave it blank but I have been told I have to pick one.

I said it already, so people start invading foreign nations and forcefully converting them. Launch crusades and burn innocent women on my name! Spend innumerable amounts of money building temples to worship my father and me, both of us love the poor, but we’d rather have that money spent on valuable golden objects while millions of people starve to death.

Word of God.

So obey.

Did he create people so they could worship him? Did he need the ego boost? Was he bored? What is the reason for it all? (please no glib comments you learned in church or watching the 700 club. I'd appriciate some real unique thought here).
