The values of a society can be measures by how that same society treats minorities. If the basic premesis of a society is to only follow the will of the majority, then that society is not a very high valued society.

A society is as strong as its weakest link. In this case that would be the smallest minority. A high-valued society would always accept anything other than "the normal standard", embrase and support it full-heartedly.

In the eyes of many a christian society is a high-valued society. When i see how christianity treats different minorities, i highly doubt if a christian society is as high-valued as assumed. We only have to look, as an example, at how the majority of christians treats gays.

Jesus would full-heartedly embrase any minority, probably also offer teachings on how to accept and welcome those minorities.

It's sad, as a non-believer, how many times i have to remind people of Jesus' teachings.

Why has a Christian society drifted so far away from Jesus' teachings?

Who thinks American youth should lead a new counter-culture revolt to show that what the yuppies who run this country are doing to us? They are screwing us over!

If you are killed by having an ax to your head, or you die as a baby, or perhaps if your leg gets amputated during your life... is it heaven, and is that how you look?

After a group of people re-translated the bible, they say they now know the "truth". I am not a religious person, nor do I want to be. But, most religions speak of "God's Word". Why then does the bible end? Does he not speak anymore? Should there be more to the story? Shouldn't he be continually encouraging us to live better lives instead of just constantly refering to an old book?

The Bible was written by man - actually many men. Unless God wrote it himself, it is open to interpretation the first time someone else's pen hits the paper.

If God wants you to live a certain way, then I think He should tell you directly so you can write it down word for word. If you are living the true meaning of your religion (and NOBODY does!) then others will see it and will want to have what you have too.

So preach no more! Then others will follow.

So I guess my question now is What Bible do you live by?

(Sorry, no spell check for this section)

In reality, do they go to heaven? If not, then why do we teach our children that they do, such as the disney movie, it's an acceptable movie by parents, and a lot of parents tell them that the dogs go to doggy heaven or heaven when a child asks why the dog died. So why teach our children that they do, just for them to find out that they don't?

I was raised moderately religious (liberal Muslim), and studied religion for years. For me, it wasn't so much an abandonment of Islam, but religion altogether - all as manmade myth, stories, and figments of order.

So for you - was there one thing that made you figure out that organized religion was all a bunch of BS? A rule that made no sense? An event in your life?

I'm curious!

Everybody has this thing about the good old days having past them by - I say, no matter how old you are - NOW is the best of times.

Would you really go through eveything again? Or was one ride enough.

To ask someone how much salary they make? How much their home is worth?
Generally it is not polite here in the US to even ask your family members these questions, but it is OK in Russia. I am just asking about cultural differences, and I don't want to insult anyone. Please tell me the answers and what country you are from. Thank you.

one night while you were out of town. It was his sister in-law. She is kind of a tramp but married to his brother and he said he felt uncomfortable about it and told her to get off but she just sat there anyways. She was obviously trying to "be cute", not really making a move and other people were there but I didn't like it. She is a classless and stupid. I would never do that. What do you think?

Our next door neighbors are loud, rude, stupid & don't care about anyone but themselves. They make all kinds of noise, play music outside at all hours of the night. Slam their side door, which is right next to my bedroom window, late at night, early in the morning. Pile up garbage & park a huge 5th wheel trailer in their drive way. We have reported them but no one does anything about it. I am getting so depressed & nervous over all of this. I want to try & talk to them nicely but my husband says no. I feel like when you don't say anything they must think it's all okay. "Silence is acceptance" ! I think of all kinds of evil ways of getting even but I know that's not the logical answer. I wanted to write them a letter & my husband also said that they would take it the wrong way. Geesh ! I feel like I am really loosing it !

It really bothers me. I went to apply for a job at hooters retaraunt. I know I look BETTER than any of the waitresses out there. They were pretty ugly and I thnk God I am sexy and attractive. I was told that I have the sexiest smile by one of my boyfriends

What I think happened is when the boss came to interview me in the little room, he walked in while i was scratching my noonie and I think thats why he wouldnt hire me. I had 2 tampons in for more protection and it caused an itch. Is it my fault i had to scratch myself on my noonie? I dont think so

I feel so helpless now. I am sick of being made fun of

My husband and our children were just at WinCo buying groceries when it came time to pay my husband made out the check and gave it to the checker. (I didn't have my ID on me so he had to pay) His address didn't match the address on the check so she said she had to ask her manager to approve it. Mind you we have been shopping at this particular store for three years with the different addresses. Anyway the manager was about to approve it and then didn't when he looked at my husband ( who has tattoos and piercings. The manager then went on to say that he wouldn't approve it for my husband. My husband is convinced that if he would've been wearing something to cover up his tattoos and took out his piercings they would've approved the check. Does this count as a form of discrimination?

Ezek 37:24(God speaking)
And David my servant(the Christ/Messiah) shall be king over them; and they all shall have one shepherd: they shall also walk in my judgments, and observe my statutes, and do them.

The contradiction is here:

Rom 10:4
For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.
