Our next door neighbors are loud, rude, stupid & don't care about anyone but themselves. They make all kinds of noise, play music outside at all hours of the night. Slam their side door, which is right next to my bedroom window, late at night, early in the morning. Pile up garbage & park a huge 5th wheel trailer in their drive way. We have reported them but no one does anything about it. I am getting so depressed & nervous over all of this. I want to try & talk to them nicely but my husband says no. I feel like when you don't say anything they must think it's all okay. "Silence is acceptance" ! I think of all kinds of evil ways of getting even but I know that's not the logical answer. I wanted to write them a letter & my husband also said that they would take it the wrong way. Geesh ! I feel like I am really loosing it !

First find out what your local ordinances are regarding these issues. Then, talk to them nicely and discuss the late night noise and the offensive garbage. If that does not work you can do one or both of the following things: Talk to a lawyer and have a letter sent to them if applicable. Report them to the local authorities. I live in a township and these issues are sometimes discussed at the monthly township meetings. I agree, "silence is acceptance". Good luck.

I can sympathize with what you are going through. There is a privately owned unincorporated lot directly across from my bedroom window. The owners were letting people ride ATVs all day.
I learned the key of persistence. I started by speaking with my village president (may be called mayor by you), who was sympathetic (up to a point). I then contacted the local police dept. and had a talk with an officer. They were more willing to co-operate with the problem. I called 911 each time the activity started in. I e-mailed the EPA. I wrote to the chief of police who was very sympathetic and encouraging. I did write a letter to one of the owners. I did so in a way that was non-accusatory. I simply said that I had seen and heard the vechiles on the property, that it was too loud, and would they please call 911 if they saw and heard the activity on their property (even though I knew they were to blame). They are violating a noise ordinance, esp. one that was just revised by our county that makes the offence much worse if the offenders are warned and the police have to return. I have high-functioning autism, and I experience VERY HIGH ANXIETY as well as EXTREME SOUND SENSITIVITY. Ironically, in my opinion, I cannot remain silent with my issue.
I agree with your husband-stay away from your neighbors for your safety. I speak from experience. Go through the legal system. Best of luck.

I know how you feel, sorta anyway. My old next door neighbours would be partying to 5am in the morning, even chucking bottles of all discriptions. Well I would say maybe going down to the police station and filing an report, and then if nothing is done try and write a civil letter, but one that gets your point accross. Well hope all works out for the best

keep a know each of the cases this happens. Date, time, variety of hoots. After some weeks take the workstation on your landlord and talk with him back. proceedings are continually a lot extra marvelous in the experience that they have demanding information, no longer purely you conserving "My neighbour's boyfriend keeps hooting even as i'm asleep". If it would not end interior of a week, tell your landlord you're going to take the remember to the police and be conscious in the experience that they could help.be certain you do tell him you're going to the police; they could no longer be keen to assist in case you have not warned him. so that you'll favor to keep a replica of your notes ...!
