Has anyone worked for a boss whose language knowledge is quite okay, but not enough to appreciate a subtle difference in expression or vocabs? I am working with these managers who ask me to translate the e-mails to send but he always make is so hard. For example, he kept saying to me that I should write "Could you please cooperate with me for this learning?" ,saying my expression of "It would be very much appreciated if you could kindly cooperate with us so that we could have a better understanding on your management environment"... My American and English colleagues told me that my expression is just fine. In the end my boss said "That is fine, then, but this does not me that I have surrendered my authority ...", Don't you think he is weird? He also asked me to give him a tip to master English for his job position with a possibility of promotion. When I kindly gave him some advice that he just have to enjoy studying language, he told me, "This is my job, not a game!"...

In the early days of the internet, as a young researcher working 15 hour days, I confess I would sometimes relieve, er, the boredom with images of the underdressed and beautiful. Pictures would take ten minutes to download, line by line, and would like as not crash the system. We were young, we were wild.

But it was all straightforward, good, cleanish fun. Nowadays it's all flashing lights, credit card numbers and shots that would go better in a gynaecology textbook. A big disappointment I feel, as sexy as overboiled brocolli, and surely the reason so many of us spend so long on Y!A. How did this happen?

My Norwegian fiance and I are in our early 40's and currently in Ireland but want to move back to my country, America. We want to move to an area of the country, preferably the southwest, where he can find a job as a manager - facilities, operation, security. Christians say there is only ONE true God, but don't you guys call Jesus God too? I've had many Christains tell me Jesus is God. And what about Mary, the "Mother of God"? Does she count? If you say Jesus is God, and His dad is God, doesn't that mean there are 2 Gods for Christians? Thats not monotheist, its almost Pagan. Whats up with that?

For instance, i think i would be right in saying that no right minded christian actually believes that a guy calle Noha actually fitted two of every species of animal into a boat and sailed away into the sunset! How can you say that this part of the bible is just a fictional story which 'has a moral behind it', but yet believe that some of the bible stories (equally as rediculous) are true fact? Does anyone actually believe that a guy once lived who could walk on water? or that there was a guy who killed a giant by throwing a stone in his eye? I have respect for Christians who admit that these stories are fictional tales or even have some element of truth but have just been exaggerated over time. However, I wonder how these people cannot question other stories on which their religion is based. And if anyone actually believes that any of the above stories are completely true then all i can say is that i feel soory for you for being completely infected by society's biggest virus-religion

Our maid ransacked our house. She stole a big amount of money. When asked, our maid claims to have been deceptively instructed by somebody who called over the phone. The caller said that my mom had an accident and would need money immediately. Meanwhile, she secretly opened our locks and got all the money and jewelry that she could. She went to this so-called "meeting place" to give the money immediately. Unfortunately, it was not true that my mom suffered an accident. Do you think she is that stupid to follow instructions over the phone to steal our money? We are having doubts if we should jail her for stealing, or if we should set her free because she is claiming that she did it out of concern. But we also think that it's possible that she had connived with third parties to do this. what should we do? Should we jail her? or should we not?
