1. You have no control over people's answers, so you're just going to have to settle for reading a few things you may not want to.

2. You can't change what you are. You can do things to alter your appearance all you want, but it doesn't change who you are inside, and where you're from. You may want to consider seeing a therapist to help with whatever issues you have in dealing with your race.

I have read some of Nicole's other questions and I think she is quite sincere.

I can't understand why anyone would want to be anything other than what they are. I have seen people of all races who were hideously ugly on the outside, but who had learned to project an inner beauty that was more attractive than "so-called" beautiful people. You feel drawn to people like this inspite of their physical appearance.

Self-hatred, for appearance sake, is so shallow and destructive. It creates a self-fulfilling prophecy that others respond to negatively. Pretty soon everyone will see what you see in you and they will agree that you are ugly as sin.

Back out of that thinking! It does you no good.

Also, I have seen black people who lacked melatonin and became almost totally white. But, you could still tell they were black. So, forget about skin lightening. All you will become is a white-skinned black person.

You would be surprised how many people envy your blackness.

Wow its weird that you want to become another Micheal Jackson. Not trying to be funny. But being black is a privilege. Everyone is trying to be dark no and days. Even white people! that is why they go out in the sun all the time. Being black has not always been easy and changing it now, you would be a outcast from the black society. But of course if it is in your heart and you feel it then go ahead, but remember you are still black no matter how light your skin is!

Well, White in terms of looks isn't necessarily within reach only due to plastic surgery. Hispanic people look quite Caucasian, given the right surgery. Asian and Black, however, do not. Yeah, I wouldn't mind being White myself, or putting forth the effort to closely resemble them. If you watch the Spanish soaps, all of the actors look quite Caucasian. The look is popular, what can I say? I'm not White myself, but I admire the fact that a White person is able to fit in in many, many countries, such as in Europe and even in Brazil.

So you want to be white, huh? This is how you do it. First you go to a pshrink and talk to him/her about your obvious problems with accepting and embracing who and what you are. Then you go jump off a bridge, when you land you will find out that it doesn't matter what color your skin is, we all bleed the same color and crap the same color (well most of the time, that curry from last night is making some odd colors). Give up on trying to be someone else and just be you... so what if you don't fit in with everyone else... f-em! just be you

I think you should accept being black. I am white, but I have seen some very attractive black women. The blacker they are, the more exotic they appear. Yes, I like a tall, slim, black beauty with pretty brown eyes.

Oh, and white skin is very overrated. I always have to be careful not to get sunburned, and the slightest blemish shows up like . that. Why do white people try to get tan? Because we don't like looking like ghosts!

Wow, I really hope you're joking. This reminds me of the Ruckus character from "The Boondocks". I wish you could understand the awesome beauty of blackness. There is no downside. But, you know if I were white, or Asian, I'd say still be just as excited and blessed. The problem isn't being black, it's being you. God help you. You need help.

maybe a doctor can alter your pigment gene. risky though. Gene thearphy. For japanese whiting creams.

Your outer color shouldn't effect how you feel about yourself, how you behave can change how people preceive you.

But I can understand it must be like how people go to tanning boths every week, that's how they preffer to look.

I don't think a tan or lighten will get you anything different than your attitude can.

Wow there's a lot out here for people who want to be lighter... I found this site http://www.thienna.com/skincare.html with a pill you take to lighten your skin. but remeber this WON't change your features! You'll still be you but lighter.

I wonder what I would look like pasty white, but honesty I don't think of my color everyday. I do worry about scars and pimples.
