I joined a committee to raise money for the new YMCA that will be built in my town. The thing is, I have never done anything like this before. I don't even know that many people in my own community. I want to change that, and that's my reason for joining. I went to my first meeting tonight and it went o.k. but they want us to go door to door or have a neighborhood meeting to discuss donations w/our neighbors. I don't even know where to begin. How should I approach people? What should I wear? I'm nervous about it.

I was sort of raised catholic and have decided to retry my hand after finding out the druidism did not satisfy my blood lust, and the church of Satan had some good ideas but I did not look to far in to it sense I still have some faith in god.

I would go to my church to buy one but all they have are Spanish bibles...and yet I live in an American town with a healthy community of both Hispanic and English Catholics...so why not English bibles?

I plan getting the bible reading it and decided what it says for my self, sense I think the church miss intrepid what some of it says. once I get the bible I will try to never enter a church again unless needed such as getting my future children bathtized and their first communion. Why not go in to the church unless needed? I don’t believe in entering any church unless you believe 100%

As for your male and female slaves whom you may have: you may buy male and female slaves from among the nations that are round about you.

Neither shalt thou make marriages with them; thy daughter thou shalt not give unto his son, nor his daughter shalt thou take unto thy son. . . .(Deuteronomy 7:2-6)2

The Bible goes on to say to Israelites who marry non-Israelites, "so will the anger of the Lord be kindled against you." (Deuteronomy 7:4)3

Christians keep on saying that the Old Testament is the 'old law'.
But why isn't it exactly the same as the Tanakh, exept for the language?Why are today's christians scholars translating the Old Testament in accordance with the Tanakh?

If you look/read closely, you'll realise that although it appear to be the same, it is not.There are different,although not obvious, interpretation in the Bible.

Why is it that baptists think we will all go to hell because the only difference between us and them is that we don't believe Jesus was the masiah. Anyways Jesus was jewish! I mean come on, we never push our religion on anyone else why do they. Anyway, we believe there isn't a hell so obviously we can't go there. Every day of my life someone says im going to hell or call me some name. God created everyone equally so that makes all of us right and everyone wrong to eachother. Why can't we just have 1 simple religion and all love eachother.

My family is blessed. We have survived more than our share of tragedy, but we have also survived many, many situations, where, rightfully, most of us should be dead. Every adult in my family (myself included) has survived a car wreck which totalled the car. Once, my brother was driving a rented boxtruck, and the gas can (full of gas) fell and was dragging on the pavement, no idea how long this lasted, but someone alerted my bro that his gas can was sparking like crazy down the highway. there was no trouble. he was also in a car wreck in which his head went through his windshield. He was also standing on the lawn of his house, when a car went out of control, crashed into a pole (or something like that) and a womans head literally rolled up to his feet. My mother was almost killed in a wreck @ 16 (she wasn't driving) my father survived 2 deadly crashes, and today, my mother was attacked by a rattlesnake, and amazingly enough, it bit into her boot, instead of her leg, the boot she almost

you know those people with both sex parts down there was this some sort of possesion and can it be exercised out and one of the parts gone or prayed away like cancer.OK my cousin has this problem and the family and everyone at church has prayed over the years and nothing yet he she is 30 and no changestill a vigin except for self pleasureing.is there help for this.

I find myself somewhat surprised by the amount of hatred being expressed on Yahoo Answers and its difficult to suprise me. I would not have thought it possible to find so many things about so many people that we all despise. As members of rhe online community of Yahoo Answers what should we do to make a breakthrough in the way people perceive and accept each others diversity (a catchall description of color, politics, religion, etc.) and enrich our lives, move us a step closer to world peace ?What do YOU think?
