As for your male and female slaves whom you may have: you may buy male and female slaves from among the nations that are round about you.
You may also buy from among the strangers who sojourn with you and their families that are with you, who have been born in your land; and they may be your property.
You may bequeath them to your sons after you, to inherit as a possession forever; you may make slaves of them, but over your brethren the people of Israel you shall not rule, one over another, with harshness. (Leviticus 25:44-46)1
In regard to inter-racial marriage there are unmistakable passages where God commanded, "You shall not make marriages with them."
And When the Lord thy God shall deliver them before thee; thou shalt smite them, and utterly destroy them, thou shalt make no covenant with them, nor show mercy unto them;
Neither shalt thou make marriages with them; thy daughter thou shalt not give unto his son, nor his daughter shalt thou take unto thy son. . . .(Deuteronomy 7:2-6)2
The Bible goes on to say to Israelites who marry non-Israelites, "so will the anger of the Lord be kindled against you." (Deuteronomy 7:4)3
Elsewhere the Old Testament decries the mixing

when god said that in the old testament he was telling jews not to marry the cannanites and other heathen inhabitants of the land, so that israel wouldn't turn from the lord. this was to preserve their culture.

Check out Answers in Genesis . org they have a great on demand video about races. I was always under the impression that interracial marriage was wrong. If you go back to Genesis we all come from the same man so we are all of the same race, just different shades of skin, I believe that the only marriage that the Bible warns against is the marriage of Christians to non-Christians

It's not a matter of race, because there is only One race - the Human race.
God wanted Israelites to marry other Israelites because of the common belief in God alone. God didn't want His people to marry other people for the danger of the others changing the beliefs of His people and drawing them away to worship false gods.

I have studied that question, somewhat, and have concluded that God wanted the Jewish nation to be a pure, set apart nation as His chosen people. They are a picture of a Christian, who should not intermarry with unsaved people. Unless I missed a passage, the Bible doesn't give this directive to any other nation or people.

We are all part of the human race. God did not want His chosen people to inter marry with nations because those nations worshiped other gods. He did not want His people to be influenced by outside beliefs and cultures. Did he say anything about skin colour? He does not want us to marry non-believers; non-Christians. God looks at one's heart, not at what's on the outside.

Jacob, whose name was changed to Israel, had twelve sons. All twelve of those nations are "The house of Israel", not the tiny little nation of "Judah" that is calling itself Israel. The Jews are one of the tribes, NOT all of them. You are correct, the Bible says that people of those nations are forbidden to marry from a nation outside Israel.

God forbid them to marry because with different races (in Biblical times) meant their spouse might drag them into worshiping their gods.

Another great question. Once I searched out scripture and I believe I have an answer to your question. First of all I believe it was okay whether I searched it out or not.. lol.. =) because I am married inter racially... My wife is Filipino and I am Hispanic.Which makes non of us Jews...
okay on to the Scripture..
This scripture is talking is talking about when Paul opposes Peter in Antioch.
Galatians 2:11 to 21
When Peter came to Antioch, I opposed him to his face, because he was clearly in the wrong. Before certain men came from James, he used to eat with the Gentiles. But when they arrived, he began to draw back and separate himself from the Gentiles because he was afraid of those who belonged to the circumcision group. The other Jews joined him in his hypocrisy, so that by their hypocrisy even Barnabas was led astray.
When I saw that they were not acting in line with the truth of the gospel, I said to Peter in front of them all, "You are a Jew, yet you live like a Gentile and not like a Jew. How is it, then, that you force Gentiles to follow Jewish customs?
"We who are Jews by birth and not 'Gentile sinners' know that a man is not justified by observing the law, but by faith in Jesus Christ. So we, too, have put our faith in Christ Jesus that we may be justified by faith in Christ and not by observing the law, because by observing the law no one will be justified.
"If, while we seek to be justified in Christ, it becomes evident that we ourselves are sinners, does that mean that Christ promotes sin? Absolutely not! If I rebuild what I destroyed, I prove that I am a lawbreaker. For through the law I died to the law so that I might live for God. I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. I do not set aside the grace of God, for if righteousness could be gained through the law, Christ died for nothing!"[d]
Through Chirsts blood unites us all wether the color backround or creed..
