What about Santa Claus or Satan? Why or why not?

I've started reading about the Mormon Church a LOT recently. It seems like sometithing I might be interested in joining. I am going to go to a church with my LDS friend when I get back home (a few weeks), but I was wondering: What happens to new members? I've read you take 6 classes before you can join, but what about attonement? I've been living a pretty..umm.."unclean" life by mormon standards, what would I have to do to be square in the eyes of the church? Also, family is really important in the LDS church, and i was wondering if any like...boys that were raised LDS would even be interested in someone whos had "a past"?

I'm talking about the bad stuff of course, like family problems, rape, drug additcion, abortion( and yes it's wrong) Masterbating innocent children( Just because they can't control or happen to them when they were a child and they want revenge and make it go away by doing it to their own child or some one else.) I'm sorry if I affend anyone one of you who reads this but don't think that this is right. I'm mean talk about God being perfect and loving us all when all these bad things in this world happen today and future. Sad folks but truth it's for.......real. I know some of you think it was right to send Lucifer or Saint John or whatever you call it, but remember this in the Bible God qutoes that he made him better than the other angels. So I bet he placed a destiny on him too, God wanted Luicifer to do that just so we have the choice whether to follow him or walk into darkness with the devil. To me it didn't help by placing the bad angel there .........it made things worse.

L ron Hubbard announced to the science fiction writers of America in the 50's that the way to really get rich would be to invent a religion. After that, he took some of his ideas and invented Scientology.
It is not possible to take the scientology test and NOT receive a result that states you need your engrams (a term that Hubbard coined) altered or cleansed.

(1) Please don't try to convert me or quote a bunch of scriptures. I am secure in my faith and am wondering what makes other people secure in theirs.
(2) I am not trying to offend anyone or start an arguement. Please try to give a more thoughtful answer than "because the Bible/Koran/Torah/etc. says so". Why did you choose to believe what you believe?

And their whole world didn't believe in god (and I mean the entire world) would missionaries be sent into space to try and convert them? Would they try to convert us to there way of thinking? Yea this is a bored question lol.

Believers and Non Believers. Chriastians and Atheists. Why do you care? Why have you come all the way in here to talk about it? Have you seen some of these questions? They look more like insults and rants. Why do you care so much about what others believe? ESPECIALLY when you know there is nothing you can say that will change their minds.

Christians almost have an excuse for this behavior. They are encouraged to go out and tru to convert everybody. Atheists, though. Why in the Hell would an atheist come to a place like this every day just to tell the world that they are still an atheist, say ridiculous things in hopes of irritating and confounding Christians, and bullying as many people as possible into joining their cause? Their behavior seems more like opposition than disbelief.

Why are you so worried about GOD? He's not even there, right?? Let the kids have their blankie.

if you had to cross a 100 foot gap, you couldnt build a bridge, fill the gap with water, and use a boat, shoot yourself across with a cannon, or use a rope to swing across, and you can't go around it. if you would die if you didnt get across, how would you, given that you have any resource that you can use by yourself, and does not use fuel... thanks (solar counts as fuel)

The word tolerance seems to be more and more used and replace the word acceptance to define people with religious beleifs that need special treatment...

Have you noticed the change of language in the media...

I mean: Replacing more and more the word Accepting by the word Tolerance?

I just read an answer from a "black man" saying that most "blacks" arent black and most arent from africa.
In my opinion when using descriptions as these its not meant to be derogatory. Its just a way to seperate one from another. in a crowd i want to point out a person. i could just as easily say "that person with the blue hat on".
I like the word 'coloured' as this kind of description for darker skinned people. I wonder what a better term for 'white guy' could be? Since, i think this is correct, white is the absence of colour, a 'white person' cant be 'coloured'. I could use the term 'pale' or 'kinda tanned' i guess. But 'whites' usually dont get upset by this kind of generalised description.
Id really like other peoples opinions, please.
