Actually, Jerusalem is mentioned in the Koran.
The real rift in Jerusalem is between Muslims and Jews. After WWII the U.N. decided to give the Jewish community "back" Jerusalem and created to country of Israel. Only problem was that people were already living there. By brute force the U.N. removed Muslims from the land they had prospered on for centuries, without any compensation for their land or homes. Naturally, the Muslims believe Jerusalem is theirs for obvious reasons. But the Muslims that commit terrorist acts are actually breaking the fundamental laws of Islam. Murder is not allowed and even in times of war, innocents (the old, women, and children) are still forbidden to be harmed. Terrorism is neither encouraged or endorsed by Islam.
The Jewish community claims that the land was given to them by God. Thus the conflict. Christians are more towards the Jewish end of the argument because Judaism is more easily associated with Christianity than Islam (the religions are closely related). Of course a terrorist isn't going to ask you your spiritual status before they blow up a bus. It isn't a relaxing type of journey, nor can your safety be assured, but it probably the most religious site for the sister religions of Islam, Christianity, and Judaism, and would be a very meaningful trek.

They may visit Holy Sites, and visit the Christian community there. Jerusalem is a holy site for 3 major religions, Judism, Islam, and Christianity. Christians have never left that area, who keeps the upper room? Coptic Christian since ancient times. I'm sure it's more of being an American with the current climate that would make you more of a target unless you try to go convert Muslims or Jews for that matter then you may be in big time trouble...lol one by words the other by death well maybe in Saudi but not Isreal. Remeber Jesus taught to turn the other cheek and love your enemies

You're very uninformed. I'm a Christian and did go into Jerusalem. I was able to go into the Christian Quarter, the Jewish Quarter AND the Muslim Quarter without issue. Old Jerusalem, for the most part, is very accepting.

It would be very unfair to kill a muslim-- they would get outraged-- but its OK for them to kill our kids! Its becasue they are unhappy!

The Jews who relly own Jerusalem enjoy Christians.

PS== Jerusalem is not even mentioned in the Q !

Christians go to Jerusalem all the time. I would be kind of nervous there but would still love to go.

They would burst into spontaneous song. "Hava Nagela(sp)" I think.
I'm sure Jesus had the same thought: "They can kill me but I can't kill them! How is that fair?" Grow up and ask a better question. Fair doesn't enter into it.

Uh oh---Don's home from work.
