Agnostic believes that there is not enough evidence to either support or deny the existence of a diety. An athiest means that they do not believe in the diety of the community God. This typically refers to the JCIG (Judaic Christian Islamic God) or any diety in general.

Well they both have a clue. One thinks there is no god. The other knows it. The agnostics may be turned off to Christianity because of logic, or the desire to be able to look in the mirror. They can do that if they realized they evolved. They can't do that if they know what creationism means. Creationism is the thought that we come from Adam and eve. This would mean that we are all related. This would mean we are all inbred. That kind of inbreeding will kill a species. Yet some feel god kept us alive to have sex with our relatives (nice guy). Insulting apes is OK. We did not evolve from them. Apes and humans come from a common ancestor. Now coming from monkeys does not sound too bad. So it may not be a good idea to insult evolution. You may be able to figure out why I am telling you this. Think hard. Use your memory.

Am athiest doesn't believe in God or in an afterlife. They think this life is it. An when you die, you die.

An agnostic questions the existance of God. In many ways the agnostic is more intelligent, imo, because he questions and ponders rather than says there is no God.

atheist is a compound word from the Greek. "A" means "no or not", "theos" means "god". An Atheist says, "There is NO god."

agnostic is also a compound from the Greek. Again, "a" means "no/not"; gnosis means "knowledge". An Agnostic says, "We have no knowledge of god; we cannot KNOW for sure there is a god."

One doesn't believe in God (atheist), one is non-commital and unsure of their exact belief system (agnostic). They are searching.

Atheist clearly beleives that there is no God
Agnostics will rather take the position that God is possible and it has just not been prooven yet.

atheist: proof of the non-existance of god.
agnostic: ignorant of whether god exists or doesn't exist.
gnostic:(knowlage) seeks to know god through knowlage.

as of yet those atheists are not really atheists because they have no conclusive proof.

Hoping the two URLs may help.

Atheists are people who reject the existence of any deity.

Agnostics are in-between theism and atheism, so to speak.
