You're right, there is no answering, particularly this type of question. Most people believe that the world is going to be over populated one day in the future, hence the planet is going to be running out of food, minerals, water, land, oil, gas resources and so on. That's the popular theory.

On the other hand, humans shall continue to develop newer and better technology on science, research, water purification, food production, health and exploration of new land for dwelling. Assuming this is the scenario, even if we are over populated, we will still do pretty darn good in the future.

Coincidently, a tv prog called 20/20 from ABC has in fact tackled this topic not too long ago. If you watch this prog, using facts, mind you, the world is going to be a lot more optimistic than most people think it will be.

Like India & China?

India is definitely overpopulated. Still, most of its men & women are sex-starving! Is it not paradoxical?

The world Overpopulation won't be a big problem. We'll have more Indias & Chinas all over the Globe! We need people to supply to the Moon & other planets.

No outsourcing of grunt jobs! Not at all bad!

Those who are already born have no right to talk about stopping / limiting the overpopulation. Let those who are not yet born should decide it! We shall leave it to them. If we are to be born next time, we should surely have our say.

What do you say?

The world is already overpopulated. It isn't that there's not enough food or living space. There actually is. However, there was never supposed to be 6 billion people on the planet. If you've noticed, whenever there have been so many people living so closely together, diseases tend to run rampant and kill many. That's starting to happen now. Look at Africa to see the future of man. Disease, warfare and starvation are on the horizon, even though things look O.K. for now. Our posterity will curse us for our selfishness.

I used to think that. But then i realized with all the diseases out there....and with all the murders...I doubt it would ever overpopulate. Plus in every city...they are building more and more houses....so their will be room for everyone. There is a lot of land out there....a lot of space....i dont think it could over populate. If it gets close...just go a killing spree. Might even it out a little.

It is already overpopulated. I estimate that, given a decent standard of living of most westernized technological societies, the Earth can only support, in a sustainable way, about 4 billion people. We are at 7 billion and counting.

i think that the whole world will eventually overpopulate i think so because many citys in china have like a billion people and there like wicked crowded so in like hundreds of years maybe every city will be like those china citys and everyone wood die from some epidemic or pandemic whatever its called....or maybe if the world is WAAAAAAAAAYY to overpopulated on only one hemishpere then the world will spin out of orbit and fly into the sun or sumthing

Ya its overpopulated.
One of the major contributor is INDIA.
World's present population is about 6.5 Billion
India population is about 1.2 Billion

2% of Earth land area and 18% of its population belong to India. World may not be much overpopulated but surely India is.

It has already pretty much reached it's carrying capacity. If it were not for improved crop genetics coming out of the U.S., improved health care advances coming out of the U.S. and the simple fact of life that most people are living longer than before then perhaps we wouldn't be at the tipping point.

And one to bobmustang, perhaps if you'd ever been in Asia, you would know there is no one group of people responsible for over population.
