Why do some teens do drugs/alcohol when they know it will hurt them? Do they really believe it when they say things like, "If you get the right kind of Ecstasy, it's safe," or "Just smoking marijuana doesn't hurt you"?

Why do girls go to tanning salons when they know the risk of cancer or frying their ovaries could be worse than using natural sunlight?

Is it peer pressure? Do you really listen to adults and take them seriously when they tell you not to do things?

A group of women are petitioning for entry into my Golf and Racquet Club. I am sure many of these girls are very nice but really, this is a private club and we want to keep it serious, a place we can talk sports and business. Can you suggest strategies for keeping our club the way it is without riling up the womenfolk?

We know that people can be brainwashed. We see so many plain examples. But why doesnt the brainwashed person know it? Is it because hes brainwashed?

Are you brainwashed? NOOO...you say!

"Are you so saturated in some belief system, that you believe its infallible and thus never really weigh different views but just give angry or desperate knee jerk reactions, thinking that you know they are wrong, but just cant prove it now"

Heres an example of what a brainwashed person says (real example) "but, without Islam, I couldnt breath"

I actually had a Muslim say that to me, after I showed him disproofs of the Quran he had no answer for. Actually, I am not bashing him, he was at least willing to listen, and fully expected the Quran to survive the analysis, but when it didnt, he gave a beautifully honest and deeply telling gasp of "I couldnt breath without it"...like a lament...

So telling...so very telling.
