It is silly that we assume such things. Maybe God is taking his revenge on the fact that we are killing all of these chickens with the weather and bird flu.

I am a Christian and I see a lot of religious answers that bind people that God didnt not say in His word. For example did God frown upon the kings in the OT that had multiple wives and mistresses? No his focus was on David and the fact that he had Bathsheba's husband killed and God punished him because he manipulated the situation. Did God punish him for lusting after bathsheba? Did he punish him for having sex with her? No God didn't so therefore those acts were overlooked by God because it isn't sin. Jesus made the water into wine after they had drank it all up! Im sure they got drunk! The "religious leaders" will tell you that getting drinking is a sin right? Well it isn't because Jesus did it! Its a sin if you take it to the extreme of not supporting your family, not feeding them, not paying the rent then you are not doing what God ultimately commands and that is to love God, love others, as you would yourself. God isn't about religion in which was created by man. Think about it..

Ok, there was a young girl (about 19 or 20) that stopped by my house yesterday. She called me by a different name I hadn't heard before, but she said that she got it from my e-mail addy. She then told me that she was looking for her dog that got away and asked if I had any tea that she could have so she could calm down. I got her some and while the water was warming up and while she drank it, we talked. She said that she is part Indian and is spiritual.? She asked if I was blind in one eye. I told her yes, caused from years of having diabetes. She said that I will have vision back in that eye by the end of the year. There is NO way she could have known I was blind as no ne in the area knows this. She also asked if I had blond hair and blue eyes at one time. I told her that I have always had dark eyes and hair. I showed her a picture of my sister when she was very small, taken with her dad and our mother. She said that this guy was supposed to be my dad and that I was supposed to be

Some people say Beijing (capital of China); other talk about Pekin (French people, for instance).

When and why did Pekin become Beijing? How should it be written in other languages (italian, spanish, etc.)?

For me....it's still bothers me....I lost my mother's engagement ring. My father passed away and she gave me the engagement ring to give to my son when he gets older years from now. One of two things happened, I was careless and have no clue where I put it. Or when we had some work in our house, one of the contractors found it and stole it. Not sure....but needless to say....I believe it's gone.

OK....

You know how on this part of the site, we tend to get Christians, saying that we're going to hell, we pray for you, blah, blah, blah, God is going to punish you???

Ok...
This is my thing, ok?
Suppose you're Christian or Catholic,right... and you believe that god is the creator of everything and our lives aren't really our lives, we're just following "God's path"...ok... if homosexuality is a sin, why would He create homosexuals??? And another thing, about god making all the diseases and imbalances in the brain, or whatever, and people saying that homoseuality is a imbalance...well, He makes that too!!! And God supposevely loves all his children, why would He send the people He created to an etenrnity of Hell???

Agree or disagree???

**I'm agnostic, and this is to preety much shut up some PEOPLE***

I have a few things that I would like answered. First.. define cult.
Why is mormonism a cult? find the definition first.
It is said that the LDS church (along with other religions as well) is because people's lifes are controlled or dictated. Which is not right.
Isn't religion voluntary? especially in this country?
If someone doesn't like living in the United States... they move right? we have laws in this nation but we are not opressed. we are free to make our own decisions. Isn't that the same with religion? Why is mormonism different?

Please no arguments about doctrine.
I know about the church. Mormons don't worship the devil and force others to do it. lol.

In fact, another one of my questions was, Has anybody visited thee 2002 Winter Games in Salt Lake city Utah? what was your experience with the people there? I am sure that some mormons tried to convert alot of the visitors.... there are people in every religion that are zealous like that.. but aside

What personal rules do you use about when to use/not use the wheelchair-accessible restroom stalls? My examples:
1. If all the other stalls are taken, I try and wait rather than occupy the (last) wheelchair-enabled stall. Depends on how urgent the need is.
2. If you are at an event where there are a lot of people in line, and a person using a wheelchair comes along, do they immediately go to the front of the line, or should they wait with everyone else, but of course get the stall when it comes available?
3. If I'm using the wheelchair-enabled stall and someone with a wheelchair comes along, I immediately finish up or try to transfer to another stall.

Your thoughts?

Catholic wife discovers Catholic husband's 11 mo affair. She informs entire family, has him visit priest for absolution & cut-off affair.

Husband tells other woman (OW) he cannot divorce wife (they have 2 children) because of duty & moral absolutes (i.e., no divorce). He loves wife, but is not in love with her. He loves OW, but cannot divorce wife. He is sorry. No contact for 2 - 3 mos.

Husband reinitates contact with OW right after he & wife attend "Retrovaille" weekend (Catholic-based 'marriage encounter' for troubled marriages) which teaches principal that "Love is a decision." He informs OW he has decided to love wife & is trying very hard to do so, but feelings for OW have not changed. He is sorry. More time passes: 2-3 mos.

Husband again contacts OW that feelings for her have not changed. Says love for OW is non-decisional, meaning he feels it without having to try to love. Would like to see OW again.

What will happen to him in after-life if this continues?
