Because women are naturally attracted to men and vice versa. Lesbianism is a corruption of nature but they can only fight nature so much. As you said, in the end they end up looking for a substitute for a man.

I think lesbians are into people who don't spell like this "If lesbians aren't in2 men, then y date some1 that walks, talks, dresses & acts like a man?"

If straight guys aren't into men, then why do they date women who dress like them? You know, jeans, t-shirts, etc.
Could it be that individuals dress the way they want to do and lesbians still know that there is a woman underneath the clothes? Radical thought, I know, but worth considering...perhaps they are interested in the woman and not so much a romantic attachment to the clothes...

Some men like female professional bodybuilders, some don't<---just one example of the personal preferences that some individuals have. In the case of lesbians who date extremely masculine females, it's just their personal preference. They may like the way another woman looks in men's clothing, the masculine characteristics of that person, etc.

First of all - that's nothing more than a stereotype. Different women like different things in a partner.
Secondly - following your logic, wouldn't feminine lesbians be perpetually dateless?

Questions like this piss me off to no end. It's the same concept as some really masculine guy being attracted to a more feminine male. WHO REALLY CARES?!?! If they love each other what the hell does it matter whether they are more femm or more masculine?!?!

Not all lesbians go for the butch stereotype. That's just what everyone thinks that go for. Just like everyone else, they have preferences and go for a variety of women.

It's not just that they don't like men but what type of woman they find attractive.
Some gay guys like effeminate men, cross dressers etc. but they are still gay.
And like another person said it can also be what equipment they have.
