I was talking with my friends one day after a lecture and we were discussing a new war memorial that our town has thrown up, it's very nice and tasteful and in a great spot.

My friends basically ridiculed me though when I suggested that, as the number of living veterans dwindle, it is surely our responsible to remember the sacrafice made by both sides during the war? I always remember not only all the British, commonwealth and US troops who fought (both those who survived and did not), as well as those of the axis powers; they were, after all, just boys like our troops for the most part who were drafted in to combat.

Whilst I can see their viewpoint, does anyone else think that we shoud remember all of those who were involved, from both perspectives? I realise of course I might think differently if I was a veteran myself, but luckily I have never seen war.

A sinner does not have eternal life through Jesus Christ. A sinner goes to hell. He/she is punished there eternally. Therefore, the sinner has eternal life. Is there more than one kind of eternal life?Or is it the usual contradiction and illogicalness of bible at work? Don't tell me that I don't understand.

If a man that was gay and wanted to be with his life partner at his deathbed, or if a person that was using drugs for most of his life wanted a second chance to start over. The letter of the law kills but do you really think that Jesus would say no?! I am shocked by some of the answers that are so legalistic and not caring for the human being. Jesus talks about loving one another. Is not letting the partner see his life partner going to stop their love, he was not able to see his lover that loved him back?! Jesus that I know would have said, "Go see him, go" Have we forgotten what love is? Love should be our governor not religion.

Have you noticed how many people complain about Da Vinci Code being just a book of fiction, which it is, a good at that, but have you noticed? How many fact’s there are in the book, have you checked out the picture of the last supper, but thing is people get all worked up about this yet the Bible, and all the other holy books are written by man, and although I believe the Bible started out to hold the truth, it was changed, we have proof of that, in fact it’s been changed many times, now man can con people in the name of the bible, go to war in the name of God, rank in lot’s of money in the name of God, the Bible has in fact become a book of fiction, and there’s lots of proof within the pages, just read it.
Why has mankind put there faith in a book, why not have faith in God, and no it’s not the same thing, that’s why the church is getting worried because of the falling numbers, people are getting wise.
I have faith in God, and his Son Jesus Christ, not in some book, before all you bible lovers start having ago think about what I’ve said, why listen to a book, listen to God.

Gender is usually only regarded in it's physical manifestation, what you have stored in your undergarb. I'm wondering if there is a whole lot more to gender than this, be it a variety of gray areas(similar to the Kinsey sexuality scale, which gave you a position 1 through 7, 1 being exclusively homo, 7 being exclusively hetero.)or if there are comlete other genders out there that we fail to recognise, or just pass off as something else. Everyhting these days seems to be either verging off to genetics, or to neurological bases. What if there IS a third gender, or even a fourth or fifth....?

This has just come from my idle daydreaming, so feel free to put on the green thinking hat and put your thoeries/ideas out there.

Just let me know I'm not the only one with this thoery, I'm really eager(keen even)to see what people have to say on this.

A friend of mine is gay and has been with his partner for 32 years.
Last week he had a heart attack and was in the hospital.
He was not expected to make it through the night.
The hospital refused to allow his partner to see him because he was not 'family'.
My friend died that night, and his partner never got to say good-bye.
Do you think the law that banned his partner from being there is right?
I'm totally at a loss...in more ways than one.

My grandfather has recently died leaving behind fascinating accounts of his time during ww2. I know he was in the Royal Signals (UK), and served in africa as a despatch rider before being posted to Burma with the Gurkhas to fight in the far east. He finshed the war at the rank of RSM, Royal Signals.

Unfortunately he left a lot of material momentos behind, none of which are very helpful; he left us his gun, motorcycle, a Kukri and an Iron Cross (I'm not sure I want to know how he got it...) along with several other bits and pieces, but no written records.

Is there any way I can trace his legacy and find out more about him as an individual? Although he was no more a hero than any of the other millions who fought in that conflict (on both sides), I think his a pretty interesting account of the war and I'd like to know more.

We are always taught that we should be god fearing and this is what the bible says but shouldn't we worship God because we love him instead of because we fear him. Did Jesus say that we should fear God? If yes please give chapter and verse from the bible.

It's not like knowing that Bob from Brazil believes in God is going to change your whole life. Why can't people just live their own life and be happy while letting others do the same? I seriously think so many people use Yahoo Answers to harrass others and make themselves feel better. It just ends up getting frustrating for EVERYONE though.
