If a man that was gay and wanted to be with his life partner at his deathbed, or if a person that was using drugs for most of his life wanted a second chance to start over. The letter of the law kills but do you really think that Jesus would say no?! I am shocked by some of the answers that are so legalistic and not caring for the human being. Jesus talks about loving one another. Is not letting the partner see his life partner going to stop their love, he was not able to see his lover that loved him back?! Jesus that I know would have said, "Go see him, go" Have we forgotten what love is? Love should be our governor not religion.

And dont tell me that homosexuality is wrong that is not the issue here. I am talking about humanity and natural love for our close family and friends.

Am I reading this right? A person on their deathbed wants to be with their mate and you think Jesus would say NO?! Wow I am starting to see what the atheist are coming from. Dont get me wrong I still believe in Jesus but man has twisted God's word and imposed legalism and religion. Jesus would not say no to that man.

I think I love you! ;-) I agree that Jesus would not have said "no" to the gay man wanting to see his partner on his deathbed.

love is not toward something, but towards greatest. If you don't get this. It's pretty simple the fact that god created you to be perfect ,but because of your sinful nature. You kill god's light. You tried to hid God's Law. Understand that you break the law when you know right from wrong and you go ahead to do as you please. God created the law to show us love. If there's no blue paints for a house. How can you make one? That's the same thing which the law was created for. To guide us to show love towards others but the law stands. There's a different between love and compassion. Compassion comes when you see a need, but love comes when there is a clear understanding of the law which god has place in your heart. The Law Of God is a simple guideline toward heaven. It's help you understand god's heart and why he shows love. That doesn't mean that you can act like if there's no law. If you can recall Jesus said," that I am here not to delete the law but to fells it." How can you say there is love when there's no love. If god wanted gay people to real exist. He would have made two guys or two girls, BUT NO HE DIDN'T MAKE GAY PEOPLE. So god loves the person not the sin. He doesn't love you as in the sexual matter, but as his creation. IF you created someting would you like to see it work. That why god love you and I think that jesus would had said no. Don't go to that place of death. I know that jesus would preach to that man.god love you and may god bless you.

Read Romans Chapter 1- Homosexuality is wrong-
As for the drug attic or anyone on their deathbed confession is good for the soul and if they are sincere then "a broken and contrite heart I will not despise" say's the Lord. The thief on the cross is a perfect example of a deathbed confession. He had nothing to offer Christ but himself. But to cling to a deviant lifestyle which is not of God, not be sorry for it is foolishness and while God is love, caring and compassionate, He is HOLY and JUST. He never changes- we must change.

The Jesus you know may say that but I think you have made Jesus what you want him to be.

Jesus did not belive in sin.

He died to take the punishment for sin.

God's rules do not change with societies.

I agree with schnebs answer.

"love should be our governor not religion"
Sounds like again you forgot the word of God that says to Love god above all. If you love God you will follow his commands. Again you are talking about religion and not Jesus and what pleases him.

That's why I like Jesus. Love thy neighbor as thyself and blessed are the meek. Peace and Love are very good things that too many so-called Christians have forgotten. A committed life-partner is just as special as any "regular" couple. My Partner and I have been together (monogamously, I might add) for 25 years. We're married. The Jesus and the God I know Love. They don't condemn.

Would you like to gamble someone's immortal soul based on a politically correct philosophy? If you do not base your belief system on the Word of God, then you will be depending on your own relative views and hence, may make people feel good about themselves to the destruction of their souls. I would not bet against the Word of God in this matter. As Jesus said, “If your hand or foot causes you to sin, cut it off and cast it from you. It is better for you to enter into life lame or maimed, rather than having two hands or two feet, to be cast into the everlasting fire." Matthew 18:8

Lady Di-USA - That is a very dangerous interpretation. Yes, come as you are to be cleansed. But afterward, you need to walk in the light and not continue in the darkness.
Ephesians 5:8 - For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light.
Ephesians 5:11
And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them.
1 John 1:6
If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth.
Hebrews 10:26
For if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins.

I think that deathbed conversions dont count. If you did wrong your whole life then so be it. the gay man asking jesus out? i think jesus had a wife, they might do a threesome but it whould be 50/50 an open relationship is not considered cheating. when you have sex behind your mates back then it is.

Boy you sure stacked the deck with those questions!

Where you are wrong is your definition of love.
God's love is not this awe shucks isn't everything just great attitude.
God knows what is best for us and what will eventually kill us.
Just as a parent will not let their children eat only what they want because they know candy and junk food will eventually kill them.
God is willing to say NO that will kill you stay away. God ONLY condemns sin never the person and God will tell the person this will kill you stay away.
That's what sin is all about! It will eventually eternally kill us.

I think that Jesus has a greater perspective. He realizes that death is not the end of the life of our spirits, so He would not encourage us to do something just because we were about to die. He would want us to do the thing that would be the most beneficial for our spirit overall, knowing that our actions during life affect our condition beyond death. So I would say that I don't agree with you; Jesus will never encourage us to sin, no matter the circumstances.

Jesus would have said no as well. In the Bible it says in Romans 9:13 As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I HATED. God doesn't love sodomites. Deuteronomny 23:17 There shall be no whore of the daughters of Israel, nor a sodomite of the sons of Israel. Thou shalt not bring the hore of a whore, or the price of a dog, into the house of the LORD. Romans 1:26-32 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:
And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust toward another; MEN WITH MEN working that which is unseemly, and recieving in themselves that recompence of their error which is meet.
And even as they did not lie to retain God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;
Being filled with all unrightousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,
Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful. proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,
Without understanding, covenantbreakers, WITHOUT NATURAL AFFECTION, implaceable, unmerciful:
Who KNOWING the judgement of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.
I know that no matter how much everyone wants to candy coat it God HATES sodomites.
