most people are aware of the rude middle finger hand gesture, but not many people are aware of the fact that many people use it indirectly. for example you might want to know what something means on a piece of paper and so you ask someone. They may take the paper from you and ask 'whereabouts do you mean?' and you may show them the part on the paper using your middle finger.

surely using a forefinger is much easier and less offensive.

any ideas on why people use the middle finger a lot and not the index finger?

Just wondering what people think of makeover formats such as; 10 Years Younger, Extreme Makeover and the new Trinny and Susannah Undress. What are these programmes doing and is it harmful to an audience? The first two are about how surgery can transform one's life, but they hasten to add that surgery can actually be life threatening. People that go on these shows have real problems and experts believe that these will all disapear with a few surgical changes. What do people think? Are these good formats or harmful and intrusive? What kind of message do they give to children and the general public about simply changing yourself with evasive procedures?

About six months ago i played the Sims and made up two of my friends. in the game both die in a fire. (This was a Saturday morning) then on Monday morning the two friends i had done on the Sims died in a barn fire on Saturday night. I haven’t been able to tell anyone and i feel guilty. than going around one of the small streets in my town my dad was about to turn out of a junction when i saw a old man in a long coat and a pair of jeans walks in front of the car none the wiser of it coming at some speed towards him. i screamed at my dad to stop the car. my dad didn't and said that there was no man there. yet i could see him. my dad pulled out and when i turned around the man was gone. I found out a old man had died in the hotel next to it a few years ago. I've been having random names inside my head and recently a person was in my mind called Robert and something to do about dieing in the local river. My mates is called Robert and goes fishing on the river. I'm scared. Am i psychic?

No, I'm not talking about anything you might be thinking. I came home from school tonight, and while not having loads of HW, I just felt lazy. I have felt like this before, but not as much as now. I think I just need something to motivate me, but I don't know. If anyone has any different ideas or possible motivators, please tell!

There is a mean old substitute in my school. I'm in the tenth grade but there are a couple of kids who complete jerks ot our normal teacher too. A couple of weeks ago we had him as a sub. Most of the kids were mishbehaving and he threatened to throw a stapler at the class. No he was not joking as he is a grumpy dull old man who never ever jokes or smiles. We are supposed to have a sub tommorow and we begged her to not have the evil sub. We asked her to request not him. She said sure and told us how bad he must be because they have people far and wide complaining about him. I'm not lying this a completly true story. What can we do about this man?

I always wanted to know about the girls that do internet porn. Do they have families? Do they think that they might regret in the future something that cannot be erased? What is in their head? I believe everybody comes across porn sometimes. By choice or not. But I have seen families break down because of it. It seems that always someone is hurt. What about the girls? Why do they like to expose themselves like that? There is no return once u r on the web. Is so hard for women to earn respect and this does not help at all.

Ok, so I have several re-occuring dreams. Some don't bother me. But one part of some of my dreams does bother me. I have a fake world in my dreams. But it is always the same fake city. All the roads are always the same, the store, food places, the house I live in, ect. The weird thing is I have never been there, and it is not a place I have ever seen. Is that normal?

The other part to my question is about a dream I had last night. I was in my fake neighborhood, driving. I was approaching a park and a Mung family was having a pinic, several people. There was a group of young African American boys walking towards them. One of the boys pulled out a gun and shot of the kids with the family, and he died on the spot. I stopped my car and tried to call 911, but it would only call the 9th number in my speed dial. I was sobbing in my dream, and I woke up crying. I can see this over and over in my head. Anyone have any ideas on what this means???

Society being dumbed down and all...you would have to figure somewhere along the way we would have to hit a remarkable detraction from the present emphasis on education.

But reading articles such as this, and considering this was only mid-2004, the problem of reliance upon modern technology and the comforts it provides will only progress more as we move into the future.

So are we doomed to a future society in which the average IQ will be far below what it is presently?
