Almost every hour of every day I see the number 34. On clocks, gas prices, everything. I just started dating this girl and she sees it quite often as well, not as much as me though. It's driving me crazy.

Sounds like a good basis for a movie.

It's called "Deja-vu",I think you are overreacting. Consider this: how many numbers in total do you see every day?

Assuming that the number of digits and the value of each digit is essentially random, I'm guessing the probability is actually pretty good that you would see the number 34 at least once or twice in a day. if it was simply the number three you were talking about, then the probability is one in ten that any specific digit is going to be "3". Moreover, if any number you see along your busy day has more that one digit, it becomes even more likely that at least one of those digits is going to be three. for example if you're talking five figure numbers, the probability is approximately 5 chances in ten or 50% that one of them is going to be a three.

what is LESS likely is that *consecutive* digits are three, for example, if it's two threes side by side the probability is 1:100, because instead of ten possibilities you have 100, or the numbers 00 through 99. For "333" it becomes 1:1000, for "3333" it's 1:10000, ec cetera.

This is actually true for any set of two consecutive digits be they "80", "11", or (heaven forbid) "34". Given any pair of two digits, you have a 1 in 100 chance that they will be "34". and the more pairs of two numbers you see, the more chances in a hundred you have to get "34". Therefore, if you see 1000 sets of two digits in a day, your chance that at least one of them is 34 is in fact very good in deed.

The point of all this is that you should be very hesitant to assign meanings to things which may or may not in fact be totally random events. You should ask yourself very carefully, not only "WHAT is going to happen?", but "HOW MUCH is it going to happen?" The second question is just as important, but of course requires counting skills, and most are too lazy to try answering (no offense intended;-). This is why things like lotteries, horoscopes, stock market scams, exist; things that may at first seem to be a good bet, but are really just a game of the numbers.

You and that number are meant to be.
my great grandpa loved the number 37, My dad is obsessed with it he Will buy table markers at pizza places that have the number on it just because its his number.

I found it kinda funny but that number haunts me. When I look at the clock its always 37 Min's into the hour, when I buy something and it has an inspection tag its usually number 37. I have decided that number and i are meant to be. It haunts my husband too he bought some swards and when he got home we got to playing with them, I st abed the closet (i didn't mean to) and after noticed the number 37 was on the bottom I looked at hubby's and it was on the bottom of his too.

34 loves you so love it back.
