I asked this before, but I typed too fast and made a mistake that totally changed the sense, so here it is again: I read that many people here SAY it was good for them that that they were spanked as kids, they get along fine with their lives, they love their parents very much, they do this with their kids as well...
But I think it can never be good for anyone and I think that people who are raised by such strict parents who use force if they don't obey and never rebel against their parents who hurt them can't develop a good sense of critic thought and don't learn to question authorities, which is something important, as authorities are often wrong. It seems to me that these are the same people that e.g. are willing to believe everything from their priests or politicians without questioning.
I would like to hear your opinions on this matter.

i am 22yrs old and i am student of master level. i want to go for phd and then some other educational programs. for that i need to work hard and have to concentrate more on my work. the problem is when i make calculation it takes me 8-10 yrs. i feel that if i go for these abjectives i may never enjoy my life like other students. life seems too short for me to covereup everything that i wish. on the other hand if i go for enjoyments it too will end in frustrations i.e no achievments in life. i realy feel that time is running out of my hand. again these acheivments have to end up with life, so struggle for nothing. i am realy confuse about the world and cant gather up.

A guy whom I met some months ago seems to be quite shy and very self-conscious too. We both knew that we would eventually have sex, but then he started to tell me how ugly, unattractive is, or how short his penis is. Sounds to me that he was making up excuses for not having sex with me. In order to boost his ego, I told him how hot I was on him and how much I wanted him. To this kind of "encouragement", his reaction was thanking me for being very kind to him. I don't understand it!!! Why did he think I was being kind to him? I was NOT!!! Why do you think he had this kind of reaction towards my encouragement? And what do you think of his mentality? Your help will be greatly appreciated and needed. Thanks a lot.

environment. Anybody who has ever spent anytime in chatrooms, Yanswers, etc. knows all about the repressed anger, and meanness of people on the internet. I believe this is a revelation of peoples true nature. (when they do things anonymously) The indication is that there are many angry and messed up people in the world. I deal with people every day who are friendly while they go about their everyday lives. I think these are the same people who get on the computer and show their true nature. There are some really angry, messed up people in the world. Your thoughts please

Does anyone have any advice for when you find yourself slipping into a real depression and you want to snap out of it but you just cant. I have been slowly getting more depressed because of my life situation and I want to know how you would try to snap out of it!!
I am in a very unhappy marriage and have been for many years but financially i can afford a divorce till February.

I am gainig weight fast but when I am happy I can lose it fast too!

I just don't want to do anything but sleep...I don't even work out anymore

I am just in a funk!!

as i have decided to leave the company for studies and growth. I being sort of commited to my work, they dont want me to leave and are now offering me bonuses and benefits.
I already have decided to leave this company as my bosses are blowing hot n cold on small issues.

At this point in time, i dont have any other job.

what would you do in a situation like this? will you remain with the company or leave the company??
